Liver disease is a significant global health issue, responsible for millions of deaths annually. Aging, characterized by the gradual decline in cellular and physiological functions, impairs tissue regeneration, increases susceptibility to liver diseases, and leads to a decline in liver health. Silent information regulator 1 (SIRT1), a NAD⁺-dependent deacetylase, has emerged as a pivotal factor in modulating age-related changes in the liver.

Our previous research has found that high expression of Lysine methyltransferase 5A (KMT5A) is closely related to the proliferation of PitNETs. The aim of this study was to investigate the role and molecular mechanism of KMT5A in the progression of GH PitNETs.

Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane databases for studies of ustekinumab in children and adolescents with IBD investigating clinical remission, clinical response, corticosteroid-free (CS-free) remission, endoscopic remission/response, or safety up to March 17, 2023.
The NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing (NLRP3) inflammasomes is centrally implicated in cisplatin (CP)-induced kidney injury. Autophagy is critical for inhibiting production of NLRP3 protein that effectively reduces the inflammatory response. Ginsenoside Rg3 (SY), an active component extracted from ginseng, is reported to protect against CP-induced nephrotoxicity.

Methods: A survey was carried out among 2417 community residents in Jilin Province, China, to study their administration (CRA), recognition (CRR), and compliance (CRC) of medicine. Multivariate logistic regression analyses and chi-squared tests were performed to assess factors influencing CRA, CRR, and CRC.
The limitation of doxorubicin (DOX), which is widely used for the treatment of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, is a vital problem in clinical application. The most serious of limit factors is cardiotoxicity. Calycosin (CA), an isoflavonoid that is the major active component in Radix astragali, has been reported in many bioactivities including antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and cardioprotection.

We investigated the mechanistic basis for the protective effect of XNJ on cerebral ischaemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Five groups of 10 SD rats underwent 2 h of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) followed by 24 h reperfusion.

A simple, specific and sensitive ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) method was developed and validated for the quantification of glaucocalyxin A in rat plasma, lung and brain tissues after intravenous administration. Sample preparation was carried out through a simple liqiud-liquid extraction with ethyl acetate using bullatine A as internal standard.

Middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) method was applicated to establish the model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats. BBB permeability after I/R injury was assessed with the leaking amount of Evans Blue and the expression of occludin and ZO-1.

High glucose and high fat are important inducements for the development and progression of diabetic cardiopathy. Salvianolic acid B (SAB), which is the most abundant and bioactive compound in Danshen, attenuates oxidative stress-related disorders, such as cardiovascular diseases, cerebral ischemia, and diabetes. However, the effect of SAB on diabetic cardiopathy is not clear.

Rats were intraperitoneally administered cisplatin at a dose of 15 mg/kg and orally administered AS IV for 7 days. Histopathological and biochemical analysis were used to assess liver and kidney function.

Methods: We searched MEDLINE, PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) up to 30th November 2018.
The present study assessed the therapeutic potential of omeprazole (OME), the most commonly prescribed proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat gastroesophageal hyperacidity, against cisplatin (CP)-induced toxicity in human renal tubular HK-2 cells and rat kidneys. Herein, we observed that exposure of HK-2 cells to OME reversed the injury caused by CP, including enhancing cell viability and alleviating intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and membrane damage. Concomitantly, acute exposure of male SD rats to CP induced histopathological changes, which were prevented by co-administration with OME.

The research explored whether SA can protect against cardiovascular disease induced by high glucose conditions. Our results indicate that SA significantly increases cells viability and nitric oxide levels while decreasing reactive oxygen species generation.

Xingnaojing (XNJ) injection, derived from traditional Chinese medicine formulation, has a protective effect against stroke, but the underlying mechanism is unclear, which severely limited its clinical application. This research aims to elucidate the role and mechanism of XNJ in reducing cerebral ischemic reperfusion (I/R) injury. Rats received 2 h cerebral ischemia followed by reperfusion of 24 h and were intraperitoneally given 5, 10, or 15 ml/kg XNJ 24 h before ischemia and at the onset of reperfusion, respectively.
