The lung is one of the most frequently metastasized organs from various cancer entities, especially colorectal cancer (CRC). The occurrence of lung metastasis correlates with worse prognosis in CRC patients. Here, we aimed to investigate the role of IL-10 in lung metastasis development and identify the cellular source and target cells of IL-10 during lung metastatic establishment.

Currently, preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) is the gold standard for detecting ploidy abnormalities. However, PGT-A has several inherent limitations, including invasive biopsy, high economic burden, and ethical constraints.

Yet, it is unknown how each side contributes differentially to the small intestinal physiology. Here, we generated a comprehensive, high-resolution map of the small intestinal two-front nutrient supply environment.

The adenosine di-phosphate (ADP) ribosylation factor (Arf) small guanosine tri-phosphate (GTP)ases function as molecular switches to activate signaling cascades that control membrane organization in eukaryotic cells. In Arf1, the GDP/GTP switch does not occur spontaneously but requires guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) and membranes. Exchange involves massive conformational changes, including disruption of the core β-sheet.

The rapid transport kinetics of divalent magnesium ions are crucial for achieving distinguished performance in aqueous magnesium-ion battery-based energy storage capacitors. However, the strong electrostatic interaction between Mg with double charges and the host material significantly restricts Mg diffusivity. In this study, a new composite material, EDA-MnO with double-energy storage mechanisms comprising an organic phase (ethylenediamine, EDA) and an inorganic phase (manganese sesquioxide) was successfully synthesized via an organic-inorganic coupling strategy.

Specifically, Ni(NO)(OH) electrodes have a larger layer spacing ( = 6.898 Å) than Ni(OH) electrodes since NO has a much larger ionic radius than OH.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFVO·HO (VO) stands out as a highly promising cathode material for aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIB). However, due to the instability of the VO structure and the limited ion transport rate, achieving the required specific capacity and extended cycling lifespan has been challenging. To tackle this issue, we synthesized Mg-ion intercalated VO (MgVO) using a straightforward hydrothermal method.

Methods: This study included 234 T2D patients, of whom 166 had DKD, at the First Hospital of Jilin University from January 2021 to July 2022. Clinical characteristics, such as age, gender, and typical hematological parameters, were collected and used for modeling.
Cysteine-focused chemical proteomic platforms have accelerated the clinical development of covalent inhibitors for a wide range of targets in cancer. However, how different oncogenic contexts influence cysteine targeting remains unknown. To address this question, we have developed "DrugMap," an atlas of cysteine ligandability compiled across 416 cancer cell lines.

Understanding the regulatory relationships of malignant cells at the invasive front of the tumor microenvironment (TME) is important to explore the heterogeneity of the TME and its role in disease progression. In this study, we inferred malignant cells at the invasion front by analyzing single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and spatial transcriptomics (ST) data of ER-positive (ER+) breast cancer patients.

Because neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) have implications not just in cardiovascular diseases (CVD), but also in breast cancer (BC), it was hypothesized to contribute to CVD in the context of oncogenesis. We established a mouse model using nude mice to simulate liver metastasis of triple-negative BC (TNBC) through the injection of MDA-MB-231 cells.

Using the common α-thalassemia and β-thalassemia genotypes test, the pregnant woman was diagnosed as a β-thalassemia carrier with β/β genotype and her daughter had a homozygosity for IVS - 2 - 654 (C→T) mutation, however, no abnormalities were detected in her husband. SMRT identified a Filipino β-deletion in her husband, and MLPA also revealed an unknown deletion in the gene.

Our study is aimed at identifying whether circ-0008102 could be a novel biomarker in β-thal. The peripheral blood of pediatric β-thal patients with (n = 39) or without (n = 20) blood transfusion and healthy controls (n = 30) was selected.

The presence of liver metastases has been reported to be responsible for an immunosuppressive microenvironment and diminished immunotherapy efficacy. Herein, we aimed to investigate the role of IL-10 in liver metastasis and to determine how its modulation could affect the efficacy of immunotherapy in vivo.
