Marine bacteria can adapt to various extreme environments by the production of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS). Throughout this investigation, impact of variable pCO levels on the metabolic activity and physiochemical modulation in EPS matrix of marine bacterium Pseudomonas sihuiensis - BFB-6S was evaluated using a fluorescence microscope, excitation-emission matrix (EEM), 2D-Fourier transform infrared correlation spectroscopy (2D-ATR-FTIR-COS), FT-NMR and TGA-DSC. From the results at higher pCO levels, there was a substantial reduction in EPS production by 58-62.

The patients were treated conservatively, and the management was aimed to avert any untoward surgical intervention taking into consideration patient safety and care. Two had previous lumbar decompressive discectomy.

Our aim was to demonstrate the feasibility and safety of initiating dabigatran therapy within 14 days of transient ischemic attack (TIA) or minor stroke in AF patients.
Patients And Methods: A prospective, multi-center registry (NCT02415855) in patients with AF treated with dabigatran within 14 days of acute ischemic stroke/TIA (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) ≤ 3) onset.
Background and Purpose- Patients with transient ischemic attack (TIA) and minor ischemic stroke are at risk for early recurrent cerebral ischemia. Anticoagulants are associated with reduced recurrence but also increased hemorrhagic transformation (HT). The safety of the novel oral anticoagulant dabigatran in acute stroke has not been evaluated.

The core value of fucoidan in terms of various cancer types were substantially exhibited through targeting the key apoptotic molecules and subsequently mitigate the toxicity that are essentially included in the chemotherapeutic agents and radiation. The pragmatic investigation about the anti-cancer effect of fucoidan in a hepatoblastoma-derived (HepG2) cell line was thoroughly analyzed by the typical techniques such as cell viability, colony formation, cell migration, cell cycle progression, genetic damage and apoptosis along with their nuclear morphology and mitochondrial membrane potential.

It has severe impact on the sustainability and the production of Penaeus monodon. Hence, the present study focussed on the investigation of Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate/biosurfactant as immunostimulants against WSSV infected shrimps.

It is unknown if persisting cognitive deficits in these patients are correlated with acute infarction identified using magnetic resonance imaging. Aims We tested the hypothesis that persistent cognitive impairment after transient ischemic attack/minor stroke can be predicted by the volume of diffusion-weighted imaging lesions.

We tested the safety and feasibility of initiating rivaroxaban ≤14 days after cardioembolic stroke/transient ischemic attack.
Methods: A prospective, open-label study of patients with atrial fibrillation treated with rivaroxaban ≤14 days of transient ischemic attack or ischemic stroke (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale <9).
The key objective of wind turbine development is to ensure that output power is continuously increased. It is authenticated that wind turbines (WTs) supply the necessary reactive power to the grid at the time of fault and after fault to aid the flowing grid voltage. At this juncture, this paper introduces a novel heuristic based controller module employing differential evolution and neural network architecture to improve the low-voltage ride-through rate of grid-connected wind turbines, which are connected along with doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs).

Methods: Minor stroke patients (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score ≤3) without atrial fibrillation and evidence of acute infarction on magnetic resonance imaging were treated with dabigatran.
Background And Purpose: Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) lesion volume on magnetic resonance imaging is increasingly being used as a surrogate outcome measure in clinical trials. We aimed to characterize the evolution of DWI lesion volumes within 30 days of symptom onset after minor stroke.
Methods: Minor stroke patients with DWI lesions on magnetic resonance imaging within 48 hours of symptom onset were prospectively followed with magnetic resonance imaging brain scan at 7 and 30 days.
Background And Purpose: Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) lesions have been identified both inside and outside the perihematoma region. We tested the hypotheses that larger hematoma volumes and blood pressure reduction are associated with DWI lesions.
Methods: Hematoma and perihematoma edema volumes were measured using planimetric techniques in 117 intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) patients who underwent DWI.
Background And Purpose: Cognitive changes after ischemic stroke are often overlooked, particularly acutely and in patients with mild or transient deficits. We assessed patients with transient ischemic attack (TIA)/minor stroke with serial cognitive screening tests. We tested the hypothesis that mild acute deficits are transient and improve after TIA/minor stroke.

Much less is known about the acute cognitive sequelae of transient ischemic attack (TIA). Although often overlooked, there is increasing evidence that cognitive impairment does occur following TIA.

Two types of entropy based measures namely, the Shannon entropy and its generalization, the Rényi entropy have been considered for this study. Our main results involve establishing formal relationships, by means of inequalities, between these two kinds of measures.

We establish relations between graph entropy measures representing the structural information content of networks. In particular, we prove formal relations between quantitative network measures based on Shannon's entropy to study the relatedness of those measures.

A disruption in the morphological or mechanical properties of collagen fibers is bound to impact tensile strength and contractility of tissues and affect several cellular processes. We had recently established that binding of discoidin domain receptor (DDR2) with collagen type I results in disruption of the native structure and morphology of collagen fibers.
