Comparison of Efficacy of Suprapatellar and Infrapatellar Approaches for Intramedullary Interlocking Nailing of Tibia in Patients With Tibial Fracture.

Introduction: Intramedullary interlocking nailing is a common surgical procedure for tibial fractures, enabling early patient mobilization. Traditionally, the infrapatellar approach has been used for intramedullary interlocking nailing of tibial fractures, but the suprapatellar approach is gaining attention for its potential benefits. This randomized controlled study aimed to compare the duration of the surgery, intra-operative blood loss, and fluoroscopy time between the suprapatellar and infrapatellar approaches.

Pan-tibial avascular necrosis in a 12-year-old boy: a case report.

We report a unique case of post-traumatic avascular necrosis of tibia in a 12-year-old boy following a Salter-Harris type II physeal injury of the proximal tibia. The diagnosis was made on the basis of classical radiological findings. The only clinical symptom was diffuse shin pain.

Epidemiology of lower limb musculoskeletal trauma with associated vascular injuries in a tertiary care institute in India.

Background: Vascular trauma associated with bony injuries is an orthopaedic emergency. Lack of timely intervention can lead to loss of limb or even life. Inspite of the rising incidence of high speed road traffic accidents in India, there is paucity of literature regarding the demographic pattern, clinical morbidity, management strategies and outcome of arterial injuries associated with lower limb trauma.

Acetabular Reconstruction in Total Hip Arthroplasty.

Acetabular reconstruction in revision total hip arthroplasty can successfully be achieved with hemispherical components featuring a porous or roughened ingrowth surface and options for placement of multiple screws for minor acetabular defect. Tubercular dactylitis in children.

Tubercular dactylitis is a rare manifestation of skeletal tuberculosis in the paediatric population. Its clinical diagnosis is often delayed as local symptoms may easily be missed in children and constitutional features such as loss of weight, loss of appetite, night sweats, evening rise of temperature and history of close contact with a patient of tuberculosis may not always be present.
