Geochemical characterisation and geostatistical evaluation of groundwater suitability: a case study in Perambalur District, Tamil Nadu, India.

Groundwater is a naturally occurring potential source for drinking, irrigation, agricultural and industrial purposes. The population growth and accelerated development of industries and agriculture activity degrade groundwater quality. The groundwater quality of an area was determined by the physical and chemical parameters, influenced by geology, soil, land use, land cover and anthropogenic activities.

Effects of Green Tea on Streptococcus mutans Counts- A Randomised Control Trail.

Context: Mouth rinses have been in use from time immemorial as a supplement for routine oral hygiene. There are many number of mouth rinses currently available in the market in which many of them possess certain drawback, which has necessitated the search for alternate mouth rinses.

Aim: The aim of the present study was to assess the effect of rinsing with green tea in comparison with chlorhexidine and plain water on Streptococcus mutans count.

Spontaneous Reversibility of an Iatrogenic Orthodontic Elastic Band-induced Localized Periodontitis Following Surgical Intervention - Case Report.

Orthodontic elastic bands are an important iatrogenic etiologic factor in the causation of periodontal attachment apparatus breakdown. Appropriate diagnosis and a well constructed treatment plan tailor-made to suit the requirements of the particular patient is imperative for management of periodontal lesions induced by subgingival retention of rubber band. There are conflicting reports regarding the reattachment and regeneration of lost periodontal supporting tissues in such cases.

Photophysical behaviour of 2,6-diaminoanthraquinone in different solvents and at various pH.

The absorption and fluorescence spectral properties of 2,6-diaminoanthraquinone (DAAQ) have been investigated in a series of organic solvents of different polarity and in aqueous solutions with H o/pH/H_ in the range -10 to 17. The Stokes shift of DAAQ is correlated with various polarity scales. The study reveals the fluorescence of DAAQ dication is red shifted on protonation.
