Introduction: In de novo metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) treated with upfront intensification using androgen receptor signaling inhibitor or chemotherapy (Docetaxel), achieving a PSA nadir less than 0.2 ng/mL, indicative of superior survival in trials, may often be unattainable in real-world settings. We explored the predictive value of the degree of PSA decline and time to PSA nadir (TTPN) on oncological outcomes.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common solid tumour of the kidney and accounts for 3% of all cancers. While immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-based combination therapies have emerged as the first-line treatment for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC), the role of surgery has become more controversial. This review summarizes the evidence, current role and future directions for surgery in mRCC management.

The present study established the relationship between IDDSI Flow Test and consistometric measures, and examined the measurement limitations of each test associated with thickened liquids prepared using starch-based and xanthan gum-based thickening agents.
Methods: Thirteen thickened liquid samples of consistency ranging from IDDSI Level 1 (mildly thick) to Level 3 (moderately thick) were prepared using starch-based and xanthan gum-based thickeners.
Background: Recent operational criteria for treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS) recognized positive and negative symptoms. TRS patients may have heterogeneity in negative symptoms, but empirical data were lacking. We aimed to characterize TRS patients based on negative symptoms using cluster analysis, and to examine between-cluster differences in social functioning.

Methods: Between July 2010 and June 2015, patients with T2D aged ≥60 years enrolled in the Hong Kong Diabetes Register completed the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) questionnaire. Patients were considered having insomnia if they had ISI score > 14.
Background And Objective: This study aimed to assess the applicability of the Global Lung Function Initiative (GLI) prediction equations for spirometry in Hong Kong children and to develop prediction equations based on the Generalized Additive Models for Location, Scale, and Shape (GAMLSS) modeling.
Methods: Healthy Chinese children and adolescents aged 6-17 years old were recruited from randomly selected schools to undergo spirometry. The measurements were transformed to z-score according to the GLI-2012 equations for South East (SE) Asians and the GLI-2022 global race-neutral equations.

However, the efficacy of CTOs remains controversial in terms of mental health services usage or service contacts, emergency visits, and violence.

The replacement of unsaturation with a cyclopropane motif as a (bio)isostere is a widespread strategy in bacteria to tune the fluidity of lipid bilayers and protect membranes when exposed to adverse environmental conditions, e.g., high temperature, low pH, etc.

The legal test for testamentary capacity under common-law jurisdiction was established in the famous case of (1870). The High Court of Hong Kong recently issued new practice guidance for legal professionals on the preparation of a will for older adults.

Methods: Service data of offenders referred to psychiatrists at the Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre from January 2011 to December 2020 were analyzed. Demographic data of gender, age on admission, educational level, principal psychiatric diagnosis, index offense, and assessment outcome were collected.
Introduction: Cycling is associated with a greater risk of traumatic brain injury (TBI) than other recreational activities. This study aimed to investigate the epidemiology of sports-related TBI in Hong Kong and to examine predictors for recreational cycling-induced intracranial haemorrhage.
Methods: This retrospective multicentre study included patients diagnosed with sports-related TBI in public hospitals in Hong Kong from 2015 to 2019.
Objective: Cognitive insight refers to the ability to distance oneself from and evaluate one's own beliefs and interpretations. Little is known about whether cognitive insight could influence medication adherence in schizophrenia patients. This study examined the role of cognitive insight in medication adherence and how it would interact with neuropsychological functions.

This study evaluates whether machine learning can predict the need for intubation within 24 h using commonly available bedside and laboratory parameters taken at critical care admission. We extracted data from 2 large critical care databases (MIMIC-III and eICU-CRD).

We aimed to determine if any EPDS cutoff can accurately and consistently estimate depression prevalence in individual studies.
Methods: We analyzed datasets that compared EPDS scores to Structured Clinical Interview for DSM (SCID) major depression status.
The Department of Forensic Psychiatry of Castle Peak Hospital is the only facility in Hong Kong that provides territory-wide forensic psychiatric services for patients with criminal involvement. This retrospective study aimed to explore whether the rehabilitation programs provided by the department could significantly reduce the risks of forensic psychiatric inpatients as measured by the Short-Term Assessment of Risk and Treatability (START). START ratings of inpatients who were hospitalized in the department for more than 3 months and were discharged to the community during the period from 11 April 2015 to 31 March 2019 were analyzed.

Background: The Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory-Revised (OCI-R) is a psychometrically sound and valid self-report measure for evaluating the severity of six dimensions of obsessive-compulsive symptoms: washing, obsessing, hoarding, ordering, checking, and neutralising. We aimed to validate the Chinese version of the OCI-R (C-OCI-R) in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in Hong Kong.
Methods: The C-OCI-R was forward and backward translated and reviewed by an expert panel and a focus group.
Objectives: A previous individual participant data meta-analysis (IPDMA) identified differences in major depression classification rates between different diagnostic interviews, controlling for depressive symptoms on the basis of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9. We aimed to determine whether similar results would be seen in a different population, using studies that administered the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) in pregnancy or postpartum.
Methods: Data accrued for an EPDS diagnostic accuracy IPDMA were analysed.
