Objective: To improve the results of diagnosis and treatment of patients with abdominal injuries through a wider introduction of laparoscopic methods.
Material And Methods: We analyzed 3556 patients with concomitant abdominal injuries. All patients had damage to several organs and systems.
Pesticides can seriously affect the respiratory chain of the mitochondria of many crops, reducing the intensity of plant growth and its yield. Studying the effect of pesticides on the bioenergetic parameters of intact plant mitochondria is a promising approach for assessing their toxicity. In this study, we investigated the effect of some pesticides on isolated potato mitochondria, which used exogenous NADH as a substrate for respiration.

The goal of this research is to study the impact of metribuzin and imidacloprid on the amount of damage in the mtDNA of potato ( L.

The objective of the present work was to analyze the possibilities envisaged by the Bologna system for the improvement of the quality of higher medical education at the post-Soviet territories. Any academic innovations including, in the first place, the accession to the Bologna process should be assessed in terms of their influence on the quality of education. This article describes the main factors responsible for the impaired quality of specialist training and the unjustified growth in the number of students in the combination with the loss of motivation to study.

A total of 60 patients presenting with grade I-II otosclerosis and conductive or mixed-type hearing impairment were surgically treated during the period from 2008 to 2014. Twenty four of these patients had undergone stapedoplasty in the preceding period in different clinics that either failed to improve their conditions or resulted in their deterioration.

Special attention is given to the possible pathways and mechanisms of the mother-to-child transmission of papilloma virus, its frequency and risk factors during pregnancy and in the postnatal period. The results of investigations into the frequency of papilloma virus infection in the children are presented along withrisk factors contributing to its persistence and the development ofjuvenile respiratory papillomatosis.

Clinical data support the conclusion that the severity of DN is related to the frequency and duration of hyperglycemic periods. The presented experimental and clinical evidences propose that changes in cellular function resulting in oxidative stress act as a leading factor in the development and progression of DN.

A total of 150 inbred white rats were included into the experiment; they were divided into 3 groups comprised of 50 animals each. The rats in group 1 were implanted with the 5 nm thick strips of fluoroplast F-4PM20 having the diamond-like carbon nanocoating.

The objective of the present study was to enhance the effectiveness of surgical rehabilitation of the patients presenting with "operated ear disease". Sixty four patients underwent sanitation surgery on the ear by means of plastic correction with the use of a muscular-periosteal flap on a feeding pedicle with the simultaneous restoration of the posterior wall of the external auditory canal by the implantation of septal autocartilage. The surgical technique is described.

The objective of the present work was to study the spectrum of microbiota maintaining the inflammatory process in the cavities of the middle ear of the patients presenting with chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) and to estimate its susceptibility to antibiotic agents. The discharge from the ears was subjected to microbiological analysis in 138 patients with CSOM. Some of the microorganisms proved highly sensitive to antibiotic agents.

Indications for the use of this methods adopted in different countries are considered in conjunction with peculiar features of the design of the most common types of the implants. The basic surgical approaches and the most frequently observed postoperative complications are described.

This leads to delay in appropriate surgical interventions with consequent high morbidity and mortality. In this paper we demonstrate the role of video-assisted laparoscopy (VAL) in management of such patients.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: A majority of abdominal injuries (AIs) are associated with shock, hence most of the patients are hemodynamically unstable, which limits the use of video-assisted laparoscopy (VAL) in their management. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the possibility of using VAL in management of stable and unstable patients with abdominal trauma.
Methods: In a period of six years 2,695 patients with AIs were evaluated.
The intensity of regeneration of crossed gastrocnemius muscle was evaluated in two groups of mdx mice of different age 2 weeks after implantation of crushed muscle tissue from newborn rats into the wound defect area. The effect of xenoplasty manifested in increased weight of the damaged muscle. The effect was observed in mice aging 12-16 weeks but not in those aged 40-48-weeks.

Low pulse rate was associated with poor survival and predisposition to sudden death, but did not directly depend on the presence of dystrophin mutant gene or animal age. Heart rate increased in old mice with bradycardia after extracardial, intramuscular, and intravenous injection of human embryonic myoblasts.

Muscular dystrophy in mice was similar to human progressive muscle disorder, which allows the use of this model for the development of cell technologies for the treatment of hereditary muscular diseases in humans.
