Background: Radial forearm free flap phalloplasty (RFFF) is a set of complex reconstructive procedures aimed at creating an aesthetic and functional penis in transgender patients. Sensory recovery in the neophallus and donor site is crucial for optimizing outcomes, but the few prior studies that exist assess neophallus sensation at limited locations and time points. The purpose of this study was to prospectively quantify sensory outcomes in the neophallus and donor site following RFFF phalloplasty.

This systematic review aimed to identify and evaluate genetic polymorphisms that are significantly associated with the pharmacokinetic parameters of methotrexate during the consolidation phase of pediatric ALL treatment. Using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) guidelines, we systematically reviewed the literature from 2013 to 2023.

Nerve scarring after traumatic or iatrogenic exposure can lead to impaired function and pain. Nerve-adjacent biomaterials promoting a regenerative tissue response may help reduce perineural fibrosis. Our prior work suggests that testosterone may promote fibrotic skin scarring, but it is unknown how testosterone alters nerve fibrosis or shifts the response to biomaterials.

However, based on increased frequency of hypertrophic scarring in patients on testosterone, we hypothesized that androgenic steroids induce abnormal scarring and developed a preclinical porcine model to explore these effects.

The chronic, progressive nature of epitope spreading calls for early interventions to limit autoimmune pathologies, but the kinetics and molecular requirements for wild-type B cell invasion and participation in GC remain largely unknown. With parabiosis and adoptive transfer approaches in a murine model of systemic lupus erythematosus, we demonstrate that wild-type B cells join existing GCs rapidly, clonally expand, persist, and contribute to autoantibody production and diversification.

Prognostic markers that can identify aggressive prostate cancer in early stages and help select appropriate therapy to finally reduce the mortality are therefore urgently needed. It has been suggested that stem cells in the prostate gland have a role in initiation, progression, and metastasis of cancer, although controversy continues to exist.
