Aim: The objective of this study is to compare the effect and safety of phacoemulsification surgery performed by resident and attending physicians.
Methods: This was a retrospective study. Eyes with cataract who underwent phacoemulsification surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University between January 2021 and December 2023 were reviewed.
Aim: The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between visceral fat area (VFA) and diabetic retinopathy (DR) in the context of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) within Ningbo, China.
Methods: The data of a total of 3,707 subjects with T2DM treated at The First Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University were enrolled. The existence and severity of diabetic retinopathy were assessed by employing the 45° two-field stereoscopic digital photography.
Aims: To compare the efficacy of compression sutures combined with intracameral air injection (CSAI) and thermokeratoplasty (TKP) for the management of acute corneal hydrops in keratoconus.
Methods: In this multi-centre randomised clinical trial, 20 patients with keratoconus (20 eyes) with acute corneal hydrops were enrolled and randomised to receive either CSAI or TKP and followed-up for a period of 6 months.
Results: There were no significant differences in patient demographics, severity of corneal hydrops and preoperative duration of symptoms between the two groups.
