We present an unusual etiology of primary renal allograft dysfunction attributed to myeloma cast nephropathy in a patient with no history of multiple myeloma before kidney transplant. The patient, a 54-year-old woman, had been on hemodialysis for 6 months before transplant for presumed diabetic nephropathy; she developed graft dysfunction immediately after transplant. Graft biopsy specimens were consistent with myeloma cast nephropathy, and she was treated with bortezomib, cyclophosphamide, and dexamethasone.

Many factors contribute to this prevalence, including the psychosocial impact of the diagnosis, restrictions on driving and certain types of work, and adverse effects associated with antiseizure medications.

Methods: We conducted an 8-week clinical trial of BLT in adolescents recruited from a primary care practice with moderate to severe major depression. Acceptability and feasibility were defined by daily use of the light box and integration into daily routines.
Purpose: Depressive disorders in adolescents are a major health concern associated with developmental, social, and educational impairment. Bright Light Therapy (BLT) is a feasible and effective treatment for depressive disorders in adults, but few controlled trials have been conducted with children or adolescents. This scoping review focuses on the current state of knowledge for BLT in the treatment of adolescent depression.

In this study, the association of AKI with renin angiotensin system (RAS) inhibitor treatment and its clinical consequences were examined in COVID-19 patients admitted to our hospital during the initial stages of the pandemic.
Methods: A total of 407 patients between 18 and 85 years of age (202 male and 205 female) admitted to the Umraniye Research And Training Hospital between May 2020 and August 2020 with a diagnosis of COVID-19 were included in the study.
Objective: Tracking perinatal mood and anxiety disorders is championed by the American Psychiatric Association and the International Marcé Society for Perinatal Mental Health. We conducted this study to examine trajectories of monthly depressive and anxiety symptoms through pregnancy and postpartum.
Methods: This is a prospective longitudinal observational cohort study of pregnant women interviewed at baseline (≤18th gestational week), every four weeks through delivery and at 6 and 14 weeks postpartum at three urban academic medical centers ( = 85) and a single rural health center ( = 3) from 2016 to 2020.
Introduction: After palliative radiotherapy for bone metastases from NSCLC, up to 30% of patients may derive no symptomatic benefit, and there are a lack of biological predictors for this. The purpose was to investigate whether and genetic rearrangements were associated with greater rates of pain response to palliative radiotherapy.
Methods: Patients were identified from a prospectively collected patient-reported outcomes database for all patients with lung cancer treated with conventional palliative radiotherapy for bone metastases from 2013 to 2016 in the province of British Columbia.
To examine associations between high sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations and depressive symptoms in reproductive-aged women with mood disorders. Women (N = 86) with major depressive or bipolar disorder in a specialized mood disorders program provided plasma samples which were analyzed for CRP concentrations and categorized by tertiles (T1, low; T2, middle; T3 high). Depressive symptoms were assessed with the Inventory of Depressive Symptoms.

The post-birth period carries the highest lifetime risk for the onset or recurrence of Bipolar Disorder (BD). Characterization of differences between unipolar and bipolar depression symptom presentation and severity is critical to differentiate the two disorders.

Female participants diagnosed with either bipolar (n = 104) or unipolar (n = 136) depression at week 20 during pregnancy were evaluated prospectively at weeks 2, 12, 26, and 52 postpartum using clinical interviews. A semi-parametric, group-based mixture model was applied to separate distinct longitudinal patterns of symptoms of anhedonia.

However, the benefit of RNI in women with biologically low-risk N1 breast cancer is uncertain. We conducted a population-based study to determine whether RNI is associated with improved breast cancer recurrence-free interval (BCRFI) in this population.

Aim: To assess the relationship between breast cancer subtypes and patient-reported outcomes (PRO) following palliative radiotherapy for bone metastases.
Materials And Methods: Prospectively collected PRO for all breast cancer patients treated with palliative, bone metastasis-directed radiotherapy from 2013 to 2016 in the province of British Columbia were analysed. The PRO questionnaire scored pain severity, level of function and symptom frustration at baseline and at 3-4 weeks following palliative radiotherapy using a 12-point scale.

Purpose: To examine the impact of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations on objective response to palliative lung radiotherapy in patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Materials And Methods: A multicentre retrospective study was conducted of patients with metastatic NSCLC diagnosed between March 2010 and June 2012 who received palliative radiotherapy to the chest. Patients included for study had baseline imaging and follow-up imaging 1-3Â months after radiotherapy.

Purpose: The benefit of external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) in locally advanced, well- differentiated thyroid cancer (WDTC) is uncertain. The purpose of this study is to evaluate locoregional recurrence (LRR), progression-free survival, and cause-specific survival (CSS) of patients with pT4 well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma.
Methods And Materials: A population-based retrospective review was conducted of consecutive patients with pT4 WDTC (per the American Joint Committee on Cancer, 8th edition, criteria) treated provincially between 1985 and 2013.
SARS-CoV-2 is still a major threat to the world. In this pandemic, transplantation activities have largely been affected worldwide. We are still facing with this pandemic; however, after regulations, we have started our transplantation activities.

It may be idiopathic or occurs secondarily to drugs, diabetes, obesity or HIV nephropathy and other infections. Dasatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that has been used for the treatment of Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia, has a few renal adverse effects.

Bright-light-induced release and generation of blood-borne gasotransmitters such as carbon monoxide (CO) may be one mechanism. Here, 24 healthy female volunteers had peripheral blood samples drawn.

Light therapy is an evidence-based nonpharmacological treatment for seasonal and nonseasonal major depression, but fewer studies have examined its efficacy for patients with BD. Hence, we reviewed the evidence for adjunctive light therapy as a treatment for bipolar depression.
