Computer-assisted video biomicroscopy of bulbar conjunctiva was employed to examine the sequelae of endothelial dysfunction manifested by microcirculatory bed abnormalities and microcirculation disturbances. The signs of endothelial dysfunction provoked by tobacco smoking in young adults disappeared after cessation of smoking, which resulted in pronounced widening of arterioles and capillaries as well as moderation of intravascular erythrocyte aggregation.

The study evaluated the concentration of homocysteine in the most numerous groups of indigene population of Priamurye (Even, Ultch, Nanai) as compared with adjacent to them outsider population. The technique of random sampling was applied to select 82 Even, 89 Ultch, 95 Nanai and for comparing the representatives of outsider male and female population in statistically comparable numbers. The concentration of homocysteine was determined with luminescence immunoassay using the analyzer immulite 1000 (Diagnostic Products Corporation, USA) and applying Siemens kits (USA).

The study was organized to establish the distinctive characteristics of lipid metabolism among the most numerous ethnic groups of native population in Amur region (Nanay, Ultch, Even) as compared with alien population. The technique of random sample was applied to examine 297 Even, 792 Ultch and 1274 Nanay (83.4%, 83.

Fourteen patients with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) of the lower extremities, class 0-4 according to the CEAP (1995) were examined for microcirculation (MC) and effect of detralex, using biomicroscopy of the conjunctival vessels and capillaroscopy of the nail matrix, with detailed computed morphometry. In 7 patients, CVI was associated with truncal arterial hypertension and in 5 with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It has been established that in CVI patients, there were remarkable disorders of MC and regional circulation.

Aim: To elucidate effects of sodium ethamsylate (SE) on anticoagulant and antiaggregation activity of vascular endothelium in patients suffering from hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).

Materials And Methods: A trial of SE enrolled 70 HFRS patients (58 males, 12 females aged under 30 years) compatible by the disease severity. They were divided into two groups.

105 patients with coronary heart disease and functionally varying angina pectoris received in sanatoria or inpatiently segmental nitroglycerin electrophoresis. The microcirculatory bed was studied with bulbar biomicroscopy in comparison with clinical effects. There appeared a relationship between improvements in microcirculation and clinical symptoms.

As many as 56 patients with associated hemorrhagic fever and the renal syndrome were examined for vascular permeability, microcirculation and blood plasma histamine, serotonin, kallikrein and prekallikrein. In all the disease periods, the majority of the patients (n-52) demonstrated a rise of vascular permeability for protein and liquid part of the plasma, with this being marked in particular in the oligoanuric period. Besides, significant perivascular and intravascular changes in microcirculation were noted in the oligoanuric and polyuric disease periods.

Altogether 85 patients with a history of hemorrhagic fever and the nephrotic syndrome (HFNS) were examined at different stages after the disease, characterizing the status of the tubulointerstitial apparatus of the kidneys. Almost half of the patients who suffered this disease manifested a decrease in the capacity of the kidneys for osmotic concentration of urine under the conditions of deprivation for 36 hours, and in acid-secretory function of the kidneys under induced acidosis and clearance of uric acid. Ultrasonic studies demonstrated that part of the patients had uni- or bilateral indurations in the renal parenchyma.
