Background: Consensus on the treatment for severely comminuted calcaneus fractures has yet to be found. This study aims to analyze the functional and radiological short- and medium-term outcomes of displaced calcaneus fractures of type III and IV treated with ORIF, and to identify, if present, the early predictors of unfavorable outcomes.

Methods: Thirty-three calcaneal fractures were included, 23 type III and 10 type IV, according to Sanders classification.

Immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) provide a promising treatment option for advanced tumors including small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Nevertheless, in addition to immune-related adverse events (irAEs), an increased risk of infection including tuberculosis has been previously described. Here, we report a case of long-term remission of a patient with SCLC after reactivation of lung tuberculosis following ICI therapy.

Introduction: Femur fracture is an acute event with a high incidence and mortality worldwide. Euthyroid sick syndrome (ESS) is a disease characterized by an alteration of fT3 in the absence of a primary thyroid pathology. The aim of the study is evaluating the association between femur fracture and ESS and post-operative fluctuations of the parathyroid hormone (PTH) and vitamin D and their physio-pathological implications.
