NF‑κB activation occurs in the majority patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC); however, directly targeting NF‑κB has proven unsuccessful, and recent studies have demonstrated a certain effect of the indirect inhibition of NF‑κB. Myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88) is a common intermediate messenger for NF‑κB activation by inducers. In the present study, the level of MyD88 in PDAC was detected using a public database and a tissue chip.

An undescribed C22-quassinoid named sergeolide A (1) and fifteen known quassinoids (2-16) were obtained from the seeds of Brucea javanica (Simaroubaceae). All chemical structures were established based on spectroscopic data and X-ray diffraction analysis. Sergeolide A (1) is the first example of a naturally occurring C22-quassinoid bearing a butenolide group fused the A ring of the bruceolide skeleton from Brucea genus.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a highly common malignancy, being the third leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Recent epidemiological studies have indicated that carcinogenic effect of diet was mainly attributed to high-fat diets. To investigate the mechanism of high-fat diet-induced colorectal cancer, we systematically quantified the phosphoproteome in human HT-29 cells treated with sodium palmitate (PA).

Malignant biliary obstruction is always caused by tumors which are unresectable so that palliative stent placement is conducted for drainage of bile duct tree. Recently, irradiation stent with I seeds has been used to improve the stent patency and survival time of patients. We conducted this meta-analysis to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of biliary stent placement with I seeds compared with stent placement alone in patients with malignant biliary obstruction.

Background: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) play an important role in tumor progression; concomitantly, MSCs also undergo profound changes in the tumor microenvironment (TME). These changes can directly impact the application and efficacy of MSC-based anti-tumor therapy. However, few studies have focused on the regulation of MSC fate in TME, which will limit the progress of MSC-based anti-tumor therapy.

In this study, several CaF nanoparticles doped with individual ions Nd and Er were synthesized with ligands pentafluorobenzoyl trifluoroacetone (PBTA) and 2-naphthoyltrifluoroacetone (NTA), which served as modifiers. Influence of the modifiers on the luminescence properties of the nanoparticles was investigated. The as-prepared nanoparticles had a similar size and dispersion with an irregular spherical shape, which reduced the influence of particle size on the luminescence of the nanoparticles.

Purpose: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is one of the most common liver primary tumors but its treatments are limited. Bioinformatics showed that the expression level of long non-coding RNA cancer-associated susceptibility 15 gene (CASC15) is correlated with ICC progression, but its functional mechanism remains unclear.

Materials And Methods: Tissues from ICC patients, tumor and adjacent tissue, were used for detection of the expression of CASC15.

Integrin subunit alpha 3 (ITGA3) interacts with a beta 1 subunit to form a member of the integrin family. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins that serve as cell surface adhesion proteins. In this research, we investigated the biological function of this protein in human intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) for the first time.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of primary liver cancer, accounting for one-sixth of all malignant tumors, and the mortality rate of HCC ranks second among all cancer-related deaths. Increasing evidence has recently shown that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play an important role in cancer occurrence and progression, including HCC. Cancer susceptibility candidate 15 (CASC15), a lncRNA, has been reported to be involved in melanoma progression and phenotype switching.

S-1 monotherapy is widely used following gemcitabine failure in pancreatic cancer, especially in East Asia. We performed a meta-analysis to determine whether S-1-based combination therapy had better efficacy and safety compared with S-1 monotherapy. We searched Pubmed, Web of Science, ClinicalTrials.
