Prospective Comparative Study Between Proximal Femoral Nail vs. Screw Augmented Proximal Femoral Nail in Unstable Intertrochanteric Fractures of Femur.

Introduction The proximal femoral nail (PFN) is a widely accepted fixation method for the management of unstable intertrochanteric fractures. Reconstructing the lateral trochanteric wall and ensuring the stability of the trochanteric fragments are considered to be essential for enhancing the prognosis of unstable intertrochanteric fractures. The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the results of the management of unstable intertrochanteric fracture of the femur using PFN and the screw-augmented PFN (aPFN).
