High-energy structural materials (ESMs) integrate a high energy density with rapid energy release, offering promising applications in advanced technologies. In this study, a novel dual-phase TiZrWMo high-entropy alloy (HEA) was synthesized and evaluated as a potential ESM. The alloy exhibited a body-centered cubic (BCC) matrix with Mo-W-rich BCC precipitates of varying sizes, which increased proportionally with the W content.

Maraging steel is a prominent category of ultrahigh-strength steel (UHSS) characterized by excellent comprehensive properties, and it finds wide applications in manufacturing load-bearing structural components. In this study, a novel tungsten-containing maraging steel, C-250W, was designed. The effects of aging treatments on the mechanical properties, microstructure, precipitations, and reverted austenite of C-250W steel were investigated.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how adding cerium to secondary-hardening steel affects the properties of non-metallic inclusions, which are critical for material performance.
  • It was found that without cerium, the main inclusions were Mg-Al-O and MgS, while adding cerium transformed these into Ce-containing inclusions, improving mechanical properties.
  • The research utilized SEM-EDS for inclusion characterization and thermodynamic calculations to explain the transformations and benefits of cerium treatment in enhancing steel durability and performance.

In screening for natural fungicidal leads, two series of novel 3-aryl-isoquinoline derivatives 8 and 9 were designed and synthesized based on sanguinarine, chelerythrine and berberine. Their structures were confirmed by 1D, 2D NMR and HRMS. Most of the title compounds showed medium to excellent antifungal activity in vitro at 50 mg/L, which were much more active than the lead of sanguinarine.

The aim of the study was to provide a descriptive analysis of familial male-limited precocious puberty (FMPP), which is a rare inherited disease caused by heterozygous constitutively activating mutations of the luteinizing hormone/choriogonadotropin receptor gene (LHCGR). The patient was a ten-month-old boy, presenting with penile enlargement, pubic hair formation, and spontaneous erections. Based on the clinical manifestations and laboratory data, including sexual characteristics, serum testosterone levels, GnRH stimulation test, and bone age, this boy was diagnosed with peripheral precocious puberty.

To establish a content determination method for 2,3,5,4'-tetrahydroxy stilbene-2-O-β-D-glucoside (TSG) of the crude/processed root of Polygonum multiflorum from different habitats in China and set up the fingerprint by using UPLC. Various samples were pretreated by macro-porous resin. Then UPLC analysis was performed on Waters ACQUITY UPLC@BEH C18 chromatographic column (2.
