Background: Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) fume in the workplace can act as an inducing agent to many health disorders.
Objectives: This work investigated the effects of exposure to VOCs content from paint on the automobile paint workers in South Eastern Nigeria.
Methods: A total of fifty (50) respondent participated in the study.
Sickle cell anemia (SCA) is a hereditary blood disorder characterized by the presence of abnormal hemoglobin, leading to the formation of sickle-shaped red blood cells. While much research has focused on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the pathophysiology of SCA, recent attention has turned to the role of apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in the disease progression. This review aims to elucidate the intricate mechanisms of apoptosis in SCA patients and explore its implications in disease severity, complications, and potential therapeutic interventions.

We sought to investigate whether seed methanol extract (BCSE) would modulate oxidative neurotoxicity induced by Hg in rats.
Materials And Methods: Rats were orally treated with BCSE (200 or 400 mg/kg body weight of rat) for 28 days, while Hg was administered from day 15 to day 28.
Background: Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia. Genetics, excessive exposure to environmental pollutants, as well as unhealthy lifestyle practices are often linked to the development of AD. No therapeutic approach has achieved complete success in treating AD; however, early detection and management with appropriate drugs are key to improving prognosis.

It is age-dependent and characterized by benign prostate enlargement (BPE), bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). The study investigated the effects of a combined extract of Funtumia africana and Abutilon mauritianum leaves (CEFA) on the lipid profile and renal indices of testosterone-induced BPH in male albino rats.

This study investigated the methanol seed extract of Buchholzia coriacea for possible in vitro anti-sickling effects and also determined the effect of Mucuna pruriens seed extract on the solubility and oxygen-binding rate of sickle cell haemoglobin. Sickle cell blood was collected from sickle cell disease patients with subsequent addition of 2% sodium metabisulphite to cause more sickling.
