Neurotrophins are proteins that mediate neuronal development using spatiotemporal signaling gradients. The chicken nucleus magnocellularis (NM), an analogous structure to the mammalian anteroventral cochlear nucleus, provides a model system in which signaling between the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and tyrosine receptor kinase B (TrkB) is temporally regulated. In the NM, TrkB expression is high early in development (embryonic [E] day 9) and is downregulated until maturity (E18-21).

In the present study, the possible association of polymorphisms in Iranian MS patients is studied.

Background: Familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is caused by mutations in genes encoding cardiac sarcomere proteins. Nowadays genetic testing of HCM plays an important role in clinical practice by contributing to the diagnosis, prognosis, and screening of high-risk individuals. The aim of this study was developing a reliable testing strategy for HCM based on linkage analysis and appropriate for Iranian population.
