Objective: This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes in dental prophylaxis between rubber cup polishing and an air polishing system using erythritol powder, with or without prior dental plaque disclosure. Method and materials: In this single-blind, randomized, controlled, split-mouth clinical trial, healthy participants with full-mouth plaque score ≥ 60% were recruited. Quadrants in each participant were randomly assigned to four treatment groups: air polishing with prior plaque disclosure; air polishing without plaque disclosure; rubber cup polishing with prior plaque disclosure; or rubber cup polishing without plaque disclosure.

Comparative proteomic profiling of human follicular fluid (HFF) from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and non-PCOS patients who displayed low levels of fertility was carried out via two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) combined with mass spectrometry. HFF, an important reproductive fluid, was used for the proteomic analysis of PCOS patients to determine the effect of PCOS on folliculogenesis. HFF was obtained from 10 women (average age, 35 years) undergoing in vitro fertilization at two hospitals.

EGFR mutation types are associated with efficacy of EGFR TKIs. We investigated the clinical outcomes of afatinib, erlotinib, and gefitinib according to EGFR mutation type in patients with lung adenocarcinoma.

Purpose: Parents find it challenging to follow recommendations to brush young children after feeds at night despite the increase caries risk. This study compared three clinical recommendations (dilution, rinsing and wiping) on plaque pH after formula consumption.
Methods: Eighteen subjects were recruited.
Objective: Full-field digital mammography (FFDM) has limited sensitivity for cancer in younger women with denser breasts. Digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) can reduce the risk of cancer being obscured by overlying tissue. The primary study aim was to compare the sensitivity of FFDM, DBT and FFDM-plus-DBT in women under 60 years old with clinical suspicion of breast cancer.

Myristoylation regulates numerous membrane-bound signal transduction pathways important in cancer biology and the pan-NMT inhibitor PCLX-001 is approaching clinical development as a cancer therapy. The tissue distribution, relative abundances, and prognostic value of the two human NMTs remain poorly understood.

We also show that FRACTAL is compatible with four-color imaging and expansion microscopy imaging.

Journals, books and conference proceedings were also searched. Investigations of pharmacological activities of kenaf revealed that this edible plant exhibits a broad range of therapeutic potential including antioxidant, antimicrobial, antityrosinase, anticancer, antihyperlipidemia, antiulcer, anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective activities.

However, the impact of RSP by its severity on general health problems and quality of life has not been well elucidated. This study aimed to analyse nutrition, physical activity, and quality of life in subjects who participated in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2007-2016 according to severity of RSP.

We tried to find STAT3 inhibitors from natural sources and found that Xanthium fruit extracts decreased phosphorylation of STAT3-Y705. 8-Epi-xanthatin (EXT) was isolated from the extracts.

The purpose of this study was to assess the current application of analgosedation in NIV and its impact on clinical outcomes in Korean ICUs.
Methods: Twenty Korean ICUs participated in the study, and data was collected on NIV use during the period between June 2017 and February 2018.
This study examined the feasibility of dark fermentative biohydrogen production from food waste using hybrid immobilization in mesophilic condition. Among four different organic loading rates (OLRs), the highest average hydrogen production rate (HPR) of 9.82 ± 0.

However, functional analyses have largely been restricted to model organisms, representing a major hurdle for functional studies and industrial applications. To resolve this, comparative genome analyses can be used to provide clues to gene functions as well as their evolutionary history.

The kenaf leaves was examed for the applicable possibility as herbal tea due to their rich phenolic content. In this study, the effect of steam blanching and high temperature drying on physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity and consumer acceptability of the kenaf tea leaves were studied.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of the surgical correction of FAI via arthroscopic osteochondroplasty with or without labral repair compared with arthroscopic lavage of the hip joint with or without labral repair.
Study Design: Randomized controlled trial; Level of evidence, 1.
Optical polarization is an indispensable component in photonic applications, the orthogonality of which extends the degree of freedom of information, and strongly polarized and highly efficient small-size emitters are essential for compact polarization-based devices. We propose a group III-nitride quantum wire for a highly-efficient, strongly-polarized emitter, the polarization anisotropy of which stems solely from its one-dimensionality. We fabricated a site-selective and size-controlled single quantum wire using the geometrical shape of a three-dimensional structure under a self-limited growth mechanism.

As an alternative to conventional ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA)-glass encapsulation, silicone-based encapsulation is a promising innovation. Added to the many advantages of silicone based encapsulation for Si solar cells, here we present surface modification of silicone encapsulation with hierarchical structures inspired by leaf epidermis structures that improve light capture and hydrophobicity of the module surface using a simple, large-area silane and ozone treatment technique.

Successful weaning from extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) does not necessarily imply patient survival. We retrospectively analyzed 441 patients with acute respiratory failure from 16 hospitals in South Korea who underwent ECMO from January 2012 to December 2015. We evaluated the clinical factors associated with mortality after successful weaning from ECMO.

Materials And Methods: Patients aged 25-39 years were included after attending a one-stop clinic before 01/05/2019 where clinical and ultrasound greyscale findings suggested a benign mass and shear-wave elastography showed a mean stiffness of <50 kPa. Such patients were reassured and discharged without biopsy or follow-up.
Plants and photovoltaics share the same purpose as harvesting sunlight. Therefore, botanical studies could lead to new breakthroughs in photovoltaics. However, the basic mechanism of photosynthesis is different to semiconductor-based photovoltaics and the gap between photosynthesis and solar cells must be bridged before we can apply the botanical principles to photovoltaics.
