Introduction: Chondromalacia patella (CMP) is characterized by cartilage degeneration, affects young adults, more women (2:1) and is responsible for 75% of knee pain complaints in the active population. The etiology is multifactorial and may be related to extrinsic factors (trauma and burden) and intrinsic factors (patellar malalignment and quadriceps weakness). Methods: Five stages derivate from the approach proposed by Reinhart Koselleck, including: identify the concept and its relevance, historical contextualization, contextual use, semantic changes over time, and synthesis and interpretation.

Findings: The concept of "validity" in nursing diagnoses is essential for accurate diagnostics, interdisciplinary communication, and evidence-based decision-making, though its interpretation varies due to differing philosophical perspectives and methodological challenges.

The research aimed to evaluate the shrimp waste meal (SWM1) in the diet of European quails in the production phase. A metabolism trial was performed with 96 quails of 28 days of age distributed in a completely randomized design with three treatments (reference diet and two test diets in which SWM replaced 20% and 40% of the reference diet) and four replications of eight birds. Evaluating renal function is essential for managing captive wild animals, particularly threatened species like the Amazonian manatee () in rehabilitation and prerelease programs. A series of urine diagnostic tests, such as gross appearance, semiquantitative chemical analyses, microscopic review of sediments, and quantitative analyses of urea and creatinine, were performed in 57 free-catch urine samples. On the same occasion, 52 serum samples from the same individuals were analyzed for creatine kinase activity, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, albumin, sodium, potassium, and chloride concentrations; serum symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA) was measured for the first time in the species.

Iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) are being increasingly recognized as viable materials for environmental remediation due to their capacity to adsorb contaminants such as glyphosate (GLY) on their surfaces. Nevertheless, the ecotoxicological implications of IONPs associated with GLY necessitate thorough evaluation to ascertain the safety of such remediation strategies. This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of using ground soybean hulls and white oat grains to finish steers reared exclusively on concentrated feed. We used 33 steers, predominantly of Charolais or Nellore breeds, and randomly assigned the animals to the treatments, blocking them according to genetic predominance. The diets were isonitrogenous, and the treatments consisted of soybean hulls, white oats, and mix these in equal parts, supplemented with calcitic limestone and a protein nucleus.
