Article Synopsis
- Low-carbon steel with a martensite structure was cold rolled to create high-strength steel sheets, and their mechanical properties were tested at various angles to the rolling direction.
- Results indicated that as cold rolling increases, hardness and strength rise, but elongation and impact toughness decline.
- Additionally, tensile strength is highest along the rolling direction, while aging at low temperatures enhances initial and deformed martensite strength initially, but then leads to a decrease over time, with elongation improving with longer aging.
