Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to investigate how the complexity of renal tumors affects the risk of vascular complications following partial nephrectomy, using three different scoring systems: PADUA, RENAL, and ZS scores.
  • Out of 1917 patients analyzed from 2007 to 2018, only 1.6% experienced vascular complications, with findings indicating that higher tumor complexity and certain surgical methods like laparoscopic nephrectomy were linked to different complication risks.
  • The results suggest that the renal anatomic classification systems, particularly PADUA, RENAL, and ZS, are not effective in predicting vascular complications post-surgery.

Checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy plus tyrosine kinase inhibitor (IO/TKI) has become the first-line treatment for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC), despite the lack of biomarkers. Cyclin-dependent kinase 6 (CDK6) has shown a regulatory role in antitumour response. The study enrolled two cohorts of metastatic RCC treated by IO/TKI (Zhongshan Hospital [ZS]-MRCC, n = 45; JAVELIN-101, n = 726) and two cohorts of localized RCC (ZS-HRRCC, n = 40; TCGA-KIRC, n = 530).

The innovation of immunotherapy was a milestone in the treatment of bladder cancer (BLCA). However, the treatment benefits varied by individual thus promoting the investigation of the biomarker of the patients. Unfortunately, there were not many effective predictive models, which were desired by clinicians, for BLCA that can predict the prognosis and benefit of immunotherapy.

The assessment of teaching quality is a very complex and fuzzy nonlinear process, which involves many factors and variables, so the establishment of the mathematical model is complicated, and the traditional evaluation method of teaching quality is no longer fully competent. In order to evaluate teaching quality effectively and accurately, an optimized GA-BPNN algorithm based on genetic algorithm (GA) and backpropagation neural network (BPNN) is proposed. Firstly, an index system of teaching quality evaluation is established, and a questionnaire is designed according to the index system to collect data.

High-throughput growth of large size transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) single crystals is an important challenge for their applications in the next generation electronic and optoelectronic integration devices. Here we report the high-throughput growth of submillimeter monolayer TMD single crystals by two-stage space confined chemical vapor deposition, where the nucleation density of TMD crystals is significantly decreased for the growth of large size monolayer crystals by the space confinement effect. Moreover, high-throughput growth of submillimeter TMD crystals is also achieved by stacking the substrates along the perpendicular direction to the flow of the reaction gases.
