Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) accompanied by main portal vein tumor thrombosis (mPVTT) is associated with poor prognosis and limited treatment options. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a novel triple therapy approach combining surgery, intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT), and postoperative portal vein infusion chemotherapy (PVC) for HCC with mPVTT.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 56 patients diagnosed with HCC and mPVTT.
Macrophages polarization play crucial roles in regulating inflammation and functional recovery after spinal cord injury (SCI). This study aimed to investigate the key macrophage polarization-related genes (MPRGs) for the treatment of SCI. Our research involved identifying differentially expressed genes (DEGs), using immune infiltration analysis, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) and machine learning to screening out key MPRGs in the GSE5296.

In this study, it is determined that circSMAD4, a Yap1-related circRNA, is stably downregulated under abnormal stress. In vitro, circSMAD4 knockdown resulted in Yap1 mRNA degradation, whereas circSMAD4 overexpression increased Yap1 mRNA expression and nuclear translocation.

However, the origin and development mechanism of the cheese-like morphology remain unclear. Here in this study, we report lumbar instability induced cartilage endplate remodeling is responsible for this pathological change.

Objective: Investigate the effects of irisin on bone metabolism via adipocytes in the bone marrow microenvironment.
Exposure to metal mixtures compromises the immune system, with the complement system connecting innate and adaptive immunity. Herein, we sought to explore the relationships between blood cell metal mixtures and the third and fourth components of serum complement (C3, C4). A total of 538 participants were recruited in November 2017, and 289 participants were followed up in November 2021.

Given the widespread immunization of the population with the BA.5 variant, it is crucial to actively monitor severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variant evolution in Chongqing's Yubei district.

Hence, targeting the acidic microenvironment and RANKL production may break this vicious cycle to rescue osteoporosis. To achieve this, an acid-responsive and neutralizing system with high in vivo gene editing capacity is developed by loading sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO) and RANKL-CRISPR/Cas9Â (RC) plasmid in a metal-organic framework.

Here, we aimed to explore the cross-sectional relationship of blood cell metals with thyroid homeostasis and explore the potential modifying effect of iodine status. Among 328 workers from the manganese-exposed workers healthy cohort (MEWHC), we detected thyroid function parameters: thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), total triiodothyronine (TT3), free triiodothyronine (FT3), total tetraiodothyronine (TT4), free tetraiodothyronine (FT4) as well as calculated sum activity of peripheral deiodinases (G) and thyroid's secretory capacity (G).

However, the function of 11β-HSD1 in osteoclasts has not been elucidated.

However, the optimal time for the non-culprit artery has been controversial. This study aimed to determine the optimal strategy for revascularization in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients with multivessel coronary artery disease (CAD).

Quercetin (3,3',4',5,7-pentahydroxyflavone), a flavonoid, is widely found in fruits and vegetables and exerts broad-spectrum pharmacological effects in the liver. Many studies have explored the bioactivity of quercetin in the treatment of liver fibrosis. Hence, through a systematic review and biological mechanism evaluation, this study aimed to construct a body of preclinical evidence for the treatment of liver fibrosis using quercetin.

A two-dimensional (2D) cell culture-based model is widely applied to study tumorigenic mechanisms and drug screening. However, it cannot authentically simulate the three-dimensional (3D) microenvironment of solid tumors and provide reliable and predictable data in response to , thus leading to the research illusions and failure of drug screening. In this study, honeycomb-like gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) hydrogel microspheres are developed by synchronous photocrosslinking microfluidic technique to construct a 3D model of osteosarcoma.
