Epidemiological studies have demonstrated the potential oncogenic effects of cumulative radiation exposure, particularly during childhood. One group experiencing repeated exposure to radiation at an early age for multiple years is patients treated for idiopathic scoliosis (IS). This study aimed to determine the relationship between childhood radiological exposure and adult cancer prevalence in children treated for IS.

The objective of this study is to determine if preoperative 3D planning and a 3D-printed surgical guide improve the accuracy of the placement of the femoral head.
Methods: This retrospective study compared outcome parameters of patients who underwent a classic Imhäuser osteotomy from 2009 to 2013 with those who underwent an Imhäuser osteotomy using 3D preoperative planning and 3D-printed surgical guides from 2014 to 2021.
Background: Little evidence is available regarding patient perceptions of the treatment of shoulder instability. The aim of this study is to investigate patient perceptions regarding the operative and nonoperative treatment of anterior shoulder instability.
Methods: Patients who presented to the emergency department or outpatient clinic between 2016 and 2020 were retrospectively selected using diagnosis and procedure codes.
Background: If eHealth interventions are not used (properly), their potential benefits cannot be fulfilled. User perceptions of eHealth are an important determinant of its successful implementation. This study examined how patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and their physiotherapists (PHTs) value an eHealth self-management intervention following a period of use.

This results in a higher risk of hospital admission and shorter survival. Performing regular DPA reduces these risks.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Persons with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), performing some level of regular physical activity, have a lower risk of both COPD-related hospital admissions and mortality. COPD patients of all stages seem to benefit from exercise training programs, thereby improving with respect to both exercise tolerance and symptoms of dyspnea and fatigue. Physical inactivity, which becomes more severe with increasing age, is a point of concern in healthy older adults.
