Background And Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop national consensus based on expert opinion on the optimal outpatient care model of pediatric psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES).

Methods: A core working group (CWG) within the PNES special interest group of the Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium was established. The CWG developed a rigorous scoring rubric to select experts in pediatric PNES within the United States of America and a three-round Delphi study was conducted to assess consensus on key components of the management of pediatric PNES in the outpatient setting.

Objective: Despite growing recognition of how curriculum modules can benefit child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP) training, there are few standardized teaching resources for pediatric consultation-liaison psychiatry (PCLP). A Special Interest Group (SIG) of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Physically Ill Child Committee (PICC) conducted a needs assessment to establish interest in, and availability of, a library of online, self-paced learning modules specific to PCLP.

Method: An email needs assessment survey was distributed to the PICC listserv in the fall of 2019 with four core areas of inquiry: (1) clinical service description, (2) teaching barriers, (3) interest in curriculum resources, and (4) interest in evaluation resources.

Depression risk is 2 to 3 times higher in medically ill youth compared with the general pediatric population. Psychogenic nonepileptic seizures is a complicated biopsychosocial disorder with significant morbidity and high cost in children's social, emotional, family, and academic functioning as well as health care service utilization. Misdiagnosis and diagnostic delay, resulting from both lack of access to approved standards for diagnosing and service providers comfortable with diagnosing and treating this disorder, impact prognosis. Treatment in close proximity to symptom onset is thought to provide the best chance for remission.

Objective: To critically review literature published from 1996 to 2007 on psychopathology in children with epilepsy (CWE).

Method: Using Ovid, we searched Medline and PsychInfo databases for original studies on epidemiology, risk factors, clinical characteristics, treatment, and outcome of psychopathology in CWE, ages 0 to 18 years, using the terms "psychopathology," "emotional and behavioral problems," and "mental health problems."
