Background: Optimal management of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) requires monitoring of treatment response, but minimal residual disease (MRD) may escape detection. We sought to identify distinctive features of AML cells for universal MRD monitoring.
Methods: We compared genome-wide gene expression of AML cells from 157 patients with that of normal myeloblasts.
Acute airway obstruction caused by goiter hemorrhage is a rare but potentially life-threatening condition. We report a case of nodular goiter in which spontaneous rupture with active bleeding developed suddenly, presenting as a large neck mass with dyspnea. Sonographic examination revealed a large inhomogeneous soft tissue mass in the left thyroid lobe containing some hypoechoic areas.
