Background: Post-Operative Atrial Fibrillation (POAF) is the most frequent complication of cardiac surgery and is associated with reduced survival, increased rates of cognitive changes and cerebrovascular accidents, heart failure, renal dysfunction, infection, length of stay and hospital costs. Low flow alarms represent a management challenge in patients with left ventricular assist devices because they are often a consequence of complex patient-device interactions. Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the Bartholin Gland (BG-ACC) is a rare form of vulval cancer with only approximately 350 reported cases since 1864. A review of available literature and case reports suggests an aggressive nature with protracted clinical symptoms and a tendency for local recurrence despite adequate surgical excision with or without adjuvant radiotherapy. Survival rates of 71% and 59% are reported at five and ten years.

The inconsistency of efficiency in murine embryonic stem cell (ESC) production might be associated with the differences in preparation and cryopreservation of the feeder cell layer. As the cryopreservation of mouse embryonic fibroblast (MEF) declined the quality of MEF as feeder cell layer, an effective protocol should be determined to produce murine ESC on frozen-thawed feeder cell layer as efficient on fresh feeder cell layer. Current surgical management of restrictive ischaemic mitral regurgitation (IMR) includes mitral valve annuloplasty (MVA) using an undersized ring when the mechanism is secondary to leaflet restriction. In our experience, MVA alone is inadequate to eliminate mitral incompetence in these patients. We report the 'Down-Under Repair' as an adjunctive concept for the treatment of a subset of patients with restrictive IMR and associated inferobasal left ventricular aneurysm.
