Background: The aim of our prospective multicentre study is to evaluate the five-year follow-up outcomes of primary reverse shoulder replacement utilizing two different designs of glenoid baseplates.
Methods: There were 159 reverse shoulder replacements (91 cemented and 68 uncemented stems, 67 Trabecular Metal baseplates and 92 Anatomical Shoulder baseplates in 152 patients (99 women) with a mean age of 74.5 (58-90) years.
An area of psychology-law research and policy that requires increased attention is the use of force during encounters with someone in mental health crisis. Cases in which law enforcement officer (LEO) intervention during a mental health crisis leads to injury or death of the person in crisis underscore the need to understand what behaviors and circumstances are relevant in excessive force litigation, what concepts may benefit from empirical research, and what facets of policies and precedent may require modification. In particular, the current national and international attention to the United States' external mechanisms of control over police conduct (i.

Little is known about the modifiable factors associated with these work productivity outcomes.
Aim: To assess the factors associated with work productivity among COPD patients.
The first derivative of the methylium cation with the triple-decker substituent, [CpCo(C B Me )RuC Me CH ]PF (2PF ), was synthesized from the reaction of the triple-decker complex CpCo(C B Me )RuCp* (1) with the salt of the trityl cation [CPh ] . The X-ray crystal structure of 2PF reveals that the methylium carbon is bound to the ruthenium with Ru-C bond length of 2.259 Å and corresponds to the description of its structure as η -fulvene-ruthenium.

Methods: Between December 2007 and July 2011, this material combination was used in 27 total hip replacement patients, most of whom had an indication of osteoarthritis. This report focuses on the first 5-year results of the clinical use of this material combination in the TriboFit® Hip System.
Introduction: Heterotopic ossification (HO) is known to be a common complication after total hip arthroplasty (THA). The minimal invasive (MIS) modified anterolateral approach has become popular in combination with a short stem. We analysed the incidence of HO following short-stem THA using this approach in combination with a postoperative administration of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Methods: Multivariable analysis of the Birmingham COPD Cohort Study baseline data was used to assess the associations between lifestyle, clinical, and occupational characteristics and likelihood of being in paid employment among working-age COPD patients.
Results: In total, 608 of 1,889 COPD participants were of working age, of whom 248 (40.
Introduction: In recent years a variety of short-stems have been introduced. Stable osteointegration is a key factor for a satisfactory long-term result. The purpose of this study was to evaluate postoperative radiological alterations and subsidence, as a result of using a newly developed device, over a 2-year follow-up.

Objective: Systematic metabolic profile tests at regular intervals provide important information to meet the increasing challenges in managing dairy herds. This study aimed at deriving long-term trends from the results of metabolic profile tests in Thuringian German Holstein dairy herds.
Material And Methods: Blood and urine samples were collected from 710 fresh, high yielding, and dry cows, respectively, to monitor 13 parameters including the serum non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA), β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), bilirubin, β-carotene and urea concentrations, the serum of aspartate aminotransferase and glutamate dehydrogenase activities, the serum concentrations of the minerals calcium, inorganic phosphate and selenium, the urine potassium and sodium concentrations, and the net acid-base excretion (NABE).
Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate long-term clinical and radiological results as well as survival rates of the NexGen® CR posterior cruciate retaining prosthesis.
Patients And Methods: We evaluated a consecutive series of 761 total knee replacements performed on 716 patients from 1999 to 2001 at our institution. All patients had been recorded prospectively in our in-house arthroplasty register.
Background and Aim: While genetic polymorphisms upstream of the interleukin-28B(IL28B) gene are associated with necroinflammatory activity grade in chronic hepatitis C virus genotype 1 (HCV-1) infection, any association with fibrosis is less definitive. Pretreatment liver biopsies in a cohort of treatment-naïve patients with HCV-1 were analyzed to evaluate associations between liver histology, and the rs12979860 and rs8099917 IL28B single nucleotide polymorphisms. Methods: Two hundred sixty-six patients with HCV-1 infection and pretreatment liver biopsy were tested for the rs12979860 and rs8099917 single nucleotide polymorphisms.

Clinical areas where telemetry is available may not always be the most suitable place to monitor and treat these sick patients. We sought to clarify the evidence regarding the need for cardiac telemetry during intravenous infusion of phenytoin.

We evaluated the long term results of 93 consecutive uncemented THAs in 80 patients using the titanium-coated RM acetabular component and the CLS femoral component in a prospective study. Eighteen hips in 16 patients had osteoarthritis secondary to developmental dysplasia of the hip.

Colliding double deckers: Addition of zinc to a reaction mixture of [{Cp*RuCl}(4)]/pentamethyl-2,3-dihydro-1,3-diborole (C(3)B(2)Me(5)H) in THF leads to three known double- and triple-decker complexes of [C(3)B(2)Me(5)](-), and unexpectedly to the slipped triple-decker (see picture) with two fused diborole rings. The endo C--H bonds of two MeC--H groups donate two additional electrons to achieve the stable 34 VE configuration.
