A Multidisciplinary Approach in the Management of Infectious Diarrhea in the Emergency Department.

Background Globally, infectious diarrhea poses a serious threat to public health, especially in emergency department (ED) settings where timely and efficient treatment is essential. The primary objective of this study was to explore and evaluate the efficacy of a multidisciplinary approach (MDA) in the management of infectious diarrhea within the ED setting. Methodology This prospective cohort study was conducted from January to December 2023 at the Lady Reading Hospital ED in Peshawar, Pakistan.

CD117/c-KIT Expression in Phyllodes Tumor of the Breast and Its Correlation With Morphology and Clinical Outcome.

Introduction Breast phyllodes tumor's (PT) clinical behavior is difficult to predict on histology. There is limited amount of data available on the role of biological markers. The objective of this study was to assess the expression of CD117 (c-KIT) in PT of the breast and its relationship with morphology and clinical outcome.

A rare case of medullary carcinoma thyroid metastasizing to bilateral breast parenchyma.

Medullary carcinoma of the thyroid (MTC) commonly spreads through the lymphatics to distant sites such as lung, liver and bone. Spread to the breast is rare. We report a case of metastatic MTC which progressed to develop nodal metastases to cer-vical and mediastinal regions, visceral metastases to the liver, lung and ultimately to bilateral breasts.

Accuracy of diagnosis of solid pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas on fine needle aspiration: A multi-institution experience of ten cases.

Introduction: Solid pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas (SPTP) is a neoplasm of uncertain origin and indolent biologic behavior with distinctive morphological features occurring predominantly in young women. This tumor has an excellent prognosis compared to neuroendocrine and acinar cell carcinoma, which are close differential diagnoses based on morphology, hence making it crucial to diagnose SPTP correctly.

Objectives: To discuss the cytomorphological features of 10 cases of SPTP reported in two institutions and to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology in establishing the diagnosis of SPTP.

Hyalinizing trabecular neoplasm of thyroid.

Hyalinizing trabecular neoplasm (HTN) is an uncommon, controversial lesion of thyroid. In its cytological and histopathological features, HTN mimics papillary and medullary carcinoma and usually misdiagnosed on fine needle aspiration cytology specimens. Pure HTN lesions are neoplams of very low malignant potential.
