Background: In patients with diabetes and multivessel coronary artery disease, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been associated with higher long-term cardiovascular mortality compared to coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), but the specific causes of death are not well known. We aimed to determine the causes of death among patients with diabetes and multivessel disease undergoing coronary revascularization with PCI versus CABG.
Methods: We analyzed the centrally adjudicated causes of death of 1,900 participants in the FREEDOM trial.
Aim: To demonstrate how workshop and mentoring across a network of radiotherapy centers helped in transitioning from point A to volume-based image guided brachytherapy in carcinoma cervix.
Materials And Methods: Based on discussion with different centers across the network, the lapses in cervical cancer treatment were identified and a workshop was designed to change the practice pattern. The main focus of the workshop was to streamline EBRT dose prescription protocols and implement volume based image guided brachytherapy through mentoring and hands on training.
Background And Objectives: Mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (mTLE) is generally associated with focal brain atrophy, but little knowledge exists on possible disease-related hypertrophy of brain structures. We hypothesized that repeated seizures or adaptive plasticity may lead to focal brain hypertrophy and aimed to investigate associated clinical correlates.
Methods: In this cohort study, we included patients with mTLE undergoing detailed epilepsy evaluations and matched healthy volunteers (HVs) from 2 tertiary centers (discovery and validation cohorts).
Background: Numerous tools based on electronic health record (EHR) data that predict risk of unscheduled care and mortality exist. These are often criticised due to lack of external validation, potential for low predictive ability and the use of thresholds that can lead to large numbers being escalated for assessment that would not have an adverse outcome leading to unsuccessful active case management. Evidence supports the importance of clinical judgement in risk prediction particularly when ruling out disease.

Functional reorganization of the language network has been observed in the ipsilateral and contralateral hemispheres within 12 months after ATLR, but little is known of longer-term plasticity effects. Our aim was to examine the plasticity of language functions up to a decade after ATLR, in relation to cognitive profiles.

The preceding article detailed the background, methodology and methods, while the current article delves into the study's findings and alignment with the broader literature. The study aimed to explore the research question: 'how do men perceive their engagement in the self-management of non-cancer-related lymphoedema?' Upon completing an online survey based on the validated lymphoedema quality of life tool (LYMQoL), the gathered data underwent narrative thematic analysis.

We reported a 63-year-old female who presented as an asymptomatic mass in buccal space. The patient, after metastatic workup, underwent complete excision of the lesion with a negative margin.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective chart review of patients undergoing elective robotic-assisted ventral hernia repairs at our quaternary academic center from July 2018 through December 2021. Patients were grouped by repair technique, either eTEP or robotic transversus abdominis release (r-TAR).
Cytoplasmic male sterility has been a popular genetic tool in development of hybrids. The molecular mechanism behind maternal sterility varies from crop to crop. An understanding of underlying mechanism can help in development of new functional CMS gene in crops which lack effective and stable CMS systems.

In addition, describe the characteristics of those seizures.
Methods: The VTEEG reports from patients admitted to the Chalfont Centre for Epilepsy between 2019 and 2022 were reviewed.
Introduction: The adoption of remote healthcare methods has been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, but evidence suggests that some patients need additional support to engage remotely, potentially increasing health disparities if needs are not met. This study of COVID-19 remote home monitoring services across England explores experiences of and engagement with the service across different patient groups.
Methods: This was a mixed-methods study with survey and interview data collected from 28 services across England between February and June 2021.
Background: General practices are facing challenges such as rising patient demand and difficulties recruiting and retaining general practitioners. Greater use of digital technology has been advocated as a way of mitigating some of these challenges and improving patient access. This includes Digital First Primary Care, when a patient's first contact with primary care is through a digital route, either through a laptop or smartphone.

Methods: Using a multi-centre observational database, we analysed 3,624 hospitalised COVID-19 PCR-positive patients at Methodist Health System, Dallas, Texas, USA from March 2020 to December 2020. We compared in-hospital death or hospice referral rates and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) between patients with four levels of oxygen (O) requirements (0-1 L/min, 2-10 L/min, 11-20 L/min, 21-100 L/min).
Objective: Anterior temporal lobe resection (ATLR) effectively controls seizures in medically refractory temporal lobe epilepsy but risks significant episodic memory decline. Beyond 1 year postoperatively, the influence of preoperative clinical factors on episodic memory and long-term network plasticity remain underexplored. Ten years post-ATLR, we aimed to determine biomarkers of successful memory network reorganization and establish presurgical features' lasting impact on memory function.

Background: Remote home monitoring services emerged as critical components of health care delivery from NHS England during the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming to provide timely interventions and reduce health care system burden. Two types of service were offered: referral by community health services to home-based care to ensure the right people were admitted to the hospital at the right time (called COVID Oximetry@home, CO@h); and referral by hospital to support patients' transition from hospital to home (called COVID-19 Virtual Ward, CVW). The information collected for the oxygen levels and other symptoms was provided via digital means (technology-enabled) or over the phone (analogue-only submission mode).

Herein, blue laser-induced topo-morphologically nano-advanced copper salicylates (Cu-SA) (Cu/SA in 1:1 and 1:2 ratio) were prepared and evaluated for their augmented antifungal potential along seed invigoration effects in contrast to their prepared sonicated formulations. Laser disintegration on the Cu-SA (Cu/SA in 1:1 and 1:2 ratio) was achieved with high degree of success and precision using blue laser, which yielded uniformly distributed spherical nanoparticles with a narrow size distribution and better crystallinity than aqua-dispersed sonicated formulations.

The multifactorial aspects of CRS and the left-right ventricular interdependence complicate the link between RV failure and renal function. RV failure has a direct pathophysiological link to renal dysfunction by leading to systemic venous congestion in certain circumstances and low cardiac output in other situations, both leading to impaired renal perfusion.
