Objective: The purpose was to examine clinical profiles in concussed children aged 5-9 and 10-12 years and compare them with those of adolescents >12 years.

Methods: This study included patients aged 5-18 years presenting to a specialty care concussion program with a sports- and recreation-related (SRR) concussion ≤28 days postinjury. Demographics, injury mechanisms, symptoms, and clinical features were assessed.

Irreversible bone defects resulting from trauma, infection, and degenerative illnesses have emerged as a significant health concern. Structurally and functionally controllable hydrogels made by bone tissue engineering (BTE) have become promising biomaterials. Natural proteins are able to establish connections with autologous proteins through unique biologically active regions.

Background: A concussion is a common adolescent injury that can result in a constellation of symptoms, negatively affecting academic performance, neurobiological development, and quality of life. Mobile health (mHealth) technologies, such as apps for patients to report symptoms or wearables to measure physiological metrics like heart rate, have been shown to be promising in health maintenance. However, there is limited evidence about mHealth engagement in adolescents with a concussion during their recovery course.

Platelet-rich fibrin, a classical autologous-derived bioactive material, consists of a fibrin scaffold and its internal loading of growth factors, platelets, and leukocytes, with the gradual degradation of the fibrin scaffold and the slow release of physiological doses of growth factors. PRF promotes vascular regeneration, promotes the proliferation and migration of osteoblast-related cells such as mesenchymal cells, osteoblasts, and osteoclasts while having certain immunomodulatory and anti-bacterial effects. PRF has excellent osteogenic potential and has been widely used in the field of bone tissue engineering and dentistry.

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease, mainly caused by the formation of a subgingival plaque biofilm. In recent years, growing attention has been paid to immunotherapy in the treatment of periodontitis, and the importance of communal intervention associated with macrophage polarization was emphasized. Herein, resveratrol (RES) and 20(S)-protopanaxadiol (PPD) were successfully self-assembled into RES@PPD nanoparticles (NPs) by the phenolic resin reaction.

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease caused by bacterial infection. Excessive immune response and high levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) further lead to the irreversible destruction of surrounding tissues. Developing new antimicrobial materials that regulate the immune system to resist inflammation can effectively treat periodontal inflammation.

Autologous blood-derived protein hydrogels have shown great promise in the field of personalized regenerative medicine. However, the inhospitable regenerative microenvironments, especially the unfavorable immune microenvironment, are closely associated with their limited tissue-healing outcomes. Herein, novel immunomodulatory blood-derived hybrid hydrogels (PnP-iPRF) are rationally designed and constructed for enhanced bone regeneration multichannel regulation of the osteogenic microenvironment.

Physiological microenvironment engineering has shown great promise in combating a variety of diseases. Herein, we present the rational design of reinforced and injectable blood-derived protein hydrogels (PDA@SiO-PRF) composed of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), polydopamine (PDA), and SiO nanofibers that can act as dual-level regulators to engineer the microenvironment for personalized bone regeneration with high efficacy. From the biophysical level, PDA@SiO-PRF with high stiffness can withstand the external loading and maintaining the space for bone regeneration in bone defects.

Background: Bone deficiency and soft tissue atrophy in the absence of maxillary lateral incisors are among the most challenging problems for implant clinicians. Autologous bone grafting is the gold standard for bone augmentation, but not without limitations. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), a biodegradable autologous biomaterial, has been widely used for bone and soft tissue management.

Recent studies, which aim to optimize maxillary sinus augmentation, have paid significant attention exploring osteogenic potential of maxillary Schneiderian sinus membrane-derived cells (MSSM-derived cells). However, it remains unclear that how MSSM-derived cells could respond to niche's biomechanical properties. Herein, this study investigated the possible effects of substrate stiffness on rMSSM-derived stem cell fate.

Background: While appropriate pillow height is crucial to maintaining the quality of sleep and overall health, there are no universal, evidence-based guidelines for pillow design or selection. We aimed to evaluate the effect of pillow height on cranio-cervical pressure and cervical spine alignment.

Methods: Ten healthy subjects (five males) aged 26 ± 3.
