Detection of extracellular DNA (exDNA) released by invasive pathogens is crucial for understanding biotic stress in plants but remains challenging due to the lack of practical sensing tools. This study introduces a fluorescent nanosensor for remote, noninvasive detection of exDNA in plant tissues. Comprising GelGreen and polyethylenimine-modified silica nanoparticles, the nanosensor forms a self-reporting nanoplatform that simultaneously captures exDNA and generates signals.

We identified the kinase STK33 mRNA, which is a high-risk factor for survival in neuroblastoma (NB) patients, as being a substrate of miR-454-3p in NB. Even though STK33 is an attractive target for several cancers, the development of inhibitors of STK33 has been challenging.

Recently, robots have assisted and contributed to the biomedical field. Scaling down the size of robots to micro/nanoscale can increase the accuracy of targeted medications and decrease the danger of invasive operations in human surgery. Inspired by the motion pattern and collective behaviors of the tiny biological motors in nature, various kinds of sophisticated and programmable microrobots are fabricated with the ability for cargo delivery, bio-imaging, precise operation, etc.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFpH sensors with low-power and strong anti-interference are extremely important for industrial online real-time detection. Herein, a narrow channel pH sensor based on AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) with package integrated Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microchannels is proposed. The fabricated device has shown potential advantages in improving stability and reducing power consumption in response to pH changes of the solution.
