Thestructure and function of a protein are closely connected. Changes in a protein structure can impact on its function. Nephrotic syndrome type 4 (NPHS4) is an uncommon genetic condition caused by mutations in the WT1 gene, which codes for the wilms tumor-1 protein.

Cancer cells undergo aberrant changes from a normal cell that show abnormal behaviour such as reduced apoptosis and autophagy, increased oxidative stress and inflammation. Various pharmacological and genetic inhibitors have been reported as drug candidates to control cancer cells, but the use of natural molecules as anti-cancer agents are limited.
