Introduction: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play crucial roles in genetic markers, genome rearrangement, chromatin modifications, and other biological processes. Increasing evidence suggests that lncRNA functions are closely related to their subcellular localization. However, the distribution of lncRNAs in different subcellular localizations is imbalanced.

The present study was designed to investigate the coregulatory effects of multiple histone modifications (HMs) on gene expression in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Ten histones for LUAD were analyzed using ChIP-seq and RNA-seq data. An innovative computational method is proposed to quantify the coregulatory effects of multiple HMs on gene expression to identify strong coregulatory genes and regions.

Objectives: To investigate the incidence of extrauterine growth retardation (EUGR) and its risk factors in very preterm infants (VPIs) during hospitalization in China.

Methods: A prospective multicenter study was performed on the medical data of 2 514 VPIs who were hospitalized in the department of neonatology in 28 hospitals from 7 areas of China between September 2019 and December 2020. According to the presence or absence of EUGR based on the evaluation of body weight at the corrected gestational age of 36 weeks or at discharge, the VPIs were classified to two groups: EUGR group (=1 189) and non-EUGR (=1 325).

Background: Susceptibility weighted imaging and mapping (SWIM) of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used to evaluate cerebral arterial thrombosis. The aim of this research was to assess susceptibility, length, and clot burden score (CBS) of thrombus in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) and their relationship with cerebral infarction and early clinical prognosis in patients with acute or subacute cerebral infarction.

Methods: In total, 56 patients with acute or subacute cerebral infarction (with the time from onset to admission less than 72 h) and only unilateral MCA occlusion were included in the current study.

Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Si-Le Hu"

  • - Si-Le Hu's recent research focuses on understanding the biological roles and mechanisms of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and their localization, as highlighted in the development of the model LncSTPred, which aims to predict lncRNA subcellular localization and delineate the factors affecting it.
  • - Another significant study investigates the coregulatory effects of histone modifications on gene expression related to ferroptosis in lung adenocarcinoma, utilizing innovative computational methods to identify key regulatory genes and regions, thereby providing insights into cancer biology.
  • - Furthermore, Hu contributed to a multicenter prospective study that examined the incidence and risk factors of extrauterine growth retardation in very preterm infants, emphasizing the urgency of addressing growth challenges for neonatal health outcomes in a large clinical sample across China.
