Background: Intracranial aneurysm (IA) rupture in pediatric patients is a rare but fatal condition. Although risk factors for aneurysm rupture in adults have been well documented, they remain unknown in pediatric patients.
Methods: Data for 94 pediatric patients with IAs were retrospectively analyzed.
Objective: To study the clinical efficacy, recurrence rate and safety of 5-aminolevulinic acid-based photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT) combined with microneedle or CO2 lattice laser (CO2FL), in comparison with intrascar betamethasone injection in the treatment of hypertrophic acne scar.
Methods: Fifty-two patients with hypertrophic acne scars at the mandibular angle were enrolled and assigned to different therapy groups. Sixteen patients were treated with microneedle-assisted incorporation of ALA.
Patients with Crohn's disease (CD) are inclined to have platelet hyperactivity and an increased risk of intestinal micro-thrombosis. However, the mechanisms underlying platelet hyperactivity in CD are not well understood. Gray-brown keratotic plugs in the pores and dark red keratotic papules at the openings of hair follicles can be seen, which contain coiled hair and are often accompanied by perifollicular erythema and pigmentation. This sulfur-alkenylation reaction proceed in a highly regio- and stereospecific manner involving the visible-light-induced conversion of a ketene dithioacetal to the thiavinyl 1,3-dipole intermediate, followed by a formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition and C-S bond cleavage. Here, we used transplantation, parabiosis, plasma transfer, exercise, calorie restriction, and aging mutant mice to understand the effects of age-regulated systemic factors on HSCs and their bone marrow (BM) niche. We found that neither exposure to young blood, nor long-term residence in young niches after parabiont separation, nor direct heterochronic transplantation had any observable rejuvenating effects on old HSCs.
