The advent of millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, coupled with reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), presents a significant opportunity for advancing wireless communication technologies. This integration enhances data transmission rates and broadens coverage areas, but challenges in channel estimation (CE) remain due to the limitations of the signal processing capabilities of RIS. To address this, we propose an adaptive channel estimation framework comprising two algorithms: log-sum normalized least mean squares (Log-Sum NLMS) and hybrid normalized least mean squares-normalized least mean fourth (Hybrid NLMS-NLMF).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Brown adipose tissue (BAT) is involved both in energy production and bone metabolism. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between BAT and microarchitecture at cancellous and cortical bone using Kunming mice and the methods of 7T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) combined with micro-CT.
Methods: Twenty-four female Kunming mice were examined by 7T MRI and measured T2* relaxation time on the deep and superficial interscapular BAT (iBAT) and subcutaneous white adipose tissue (sWAT).
Objective: To study the effect of long-distance running on the morphological and T2* assessment of knee cartilage.
Methods: 3D-DESS and T2* mapping was performed in 12 amateur marathon runners (age: between 21 and 37 years) without obvious morphological cartilage damage. MRI was performed three times: within 24 h before the marathon, within 12 h after the marathon, and after a period of convalescence of two months.
The effects of repeating thickness periods on stress are studied in ZrO2/SiO2 multilayers deposited by electron-beam evaporation on BK7 glass and fused-silica substrates. The results show that the residual stress is compressive and decreases with an increase of the periods of repeating thickness in the ZrO2/SiO2 multilayers. At the same time, the residual stress in multilayers deposited on BK7 glass is less than that of samples deposited on fused silica.
