To explore the influence of recent high-altitude residential history on the optimal cutoff of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) for detecting abnormal glucose metabolism. The study included 505 self-reported healthy Han participants of age 18-65 years, recruited in Chengdu and categorized based on recent (within 3 months) high-altitude (>2,500 m) residential history. The 1999 WHO criteria was used as the gold standard for defining prediabetes and diabetes.

Objective: To explore the possible etiological factors of iron overload through detecting plasma hepcidin level of adult males at Tibet plateau.

Methods: 81 Tibetan male adult patients hospitalized in our department during January 2017 - December 2018 were selected, and divided into iron overload group and non-iron overload group. Diabetic foot is a kind of limb- and life-threatening complication that is difficult to treat with conventional therapy, especially when accompanied with peripheral arterial insufficiency and severe infection. We present a diabetic patient with a postamputation wound infected by multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii/haemolyticus, which was resistant to almost all antibiotics. As the clinical response to antimicrobial therapy was poor, antibiotic was discontinued.

Objective: To review the regulatory effect of microRNA (miRNA) in wound healing, which abnormal expression associates with diabetes.

Methods: The literature on miRNA associating with wound healing was reviewed and summarized.

Results: miRNA plays a key role in wound healing, including regulating inflammation, angiogenesis, granulation tissue formation, and re-epithelization.
