Background: To investigate variations in diagnostic performance of photodynamic diagnosis (PDD) according to surgical experience.
Methods: Data were extracted from patients having pT1 or lower primary tumors that underwent PDD-assisted transurethral resection of bladder tumors (TURBT) with orally 5-amibolevulinic acid at our institute. Surgical experience was categorized by urological experience (first-year and second-year) and PDD experience (<10, 10-19, and ≥20 cases).
Nivolumab plus ipilimumab (NIVO+IPI) has a long-term response rate of 30% for patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). However, 20% of patients develop primary resistant disease (PRD) to NIVO+IPI and show poor survival outcomes. The conduit was constructed by a total pelvic resection for sigmoid colon cancer that invaded the urinary bladder 24 years ago. Swollen cutaneous mucosa was seen around the ileal conduit, but no obvious bleeding spot was observed.

Methods: SP/serum ratios of 20 TEs (lithium, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfur, potassium, calcium, manganese, iron, cobalt, copper, zinc, arsenic, selenium, rubidium, strontium, molybdenum, cesium, barium, and thallium) were calculated for healthy volunteers ( = 4) and those consulting for male subfertility ( = 245). Volunteer semen samples were collected by split ejaculation into early and subsequent fractions, and SP/serum ratio data were compared between fractions.
Background/aim: While post-chemotherapy retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (PC-RPLND) benefits patients with teratoma or viable germ cell tumors (GCT), it becomes overtreatment if necrosis is detected in PC-RPLND specimens. Serum microRNA-371a-3p correctly predicts residual viable GCT with 100% sensitivity; however, prediction of residual teratoma in PC-RPLND specimens using current modalities remains difficult. Therefore, we developed a machine learning model using CT imaging and clinical variables to predict the presence of residual teratoma in PC-RPLND specimens.

Methods: In this retrospective analysis, we compared the time to treatment failure (TTF) for molecular-targeted agents as first-line therapy, or nivolumab therapy as sequential therapy between ccRCC and nccRCC using the data of Japanese metastatic RCC patients registered in the Michinoku Japan Urological Cancer Study Group database.
Results: In total, 511 cases of ccRCC and 77 cases of nccRCC were treated with pharmacotherapy.
Background: The Modified International Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Dataset Consortium model (mIMDC) is a preoperative prognostic model for pT3cN0M0 renal cell carcinoma (RCC). This study aimed to validate the mIMDC and to construct a new model in a localized and locally advanced RCC (LLRCC).
Methods: A database was established (the Michinoku Japan Urological Cancer Study Group database) consisting of 79 patients who were clinically diagnosed with LLRCC (cT3b/c/4NanyM0) and underwent radical nephrectomy from December 2007 to May 2018.
Prognoses for patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma (mUC) have improved with pembrolizumab treatment, an immune checkpoint inhibitor, but clinical benefits are limited to a subset of patients. Therefore, a non-invasive biomarker to predict pembrolizumab response is required. The present study retrospectively examined genomic alterations in 25 plasma circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) samples using targeted sequencing of 77 genes from 16 patients with mUC during pembrolizumab treatment.
