Red dragon fruit juice (RDFJ) is a common fruit processing product on the market, and different processing methods can affect its quality. This study selected traditional thermal processing methods such as pasteurization and novel non-thermal processing methods like ultrasonication and cold plasma to treat red dragon fruit juice. The effects of different processing methods on the quality of red dragon fruit juice were comprehensively evaluated through physicochemical properties, in vitro activity, metabolomics and flavoromics.

There are currently multiple hypotheses regarding coal accumulation models, each with certain limitations in applicability. This article investigates the relationship between modern sedimentation, soil and climate to analyze the distribution of coal across different geological periods, aiming to explain the coal accumulation environment within a unified theoretical framework. The research concludes that the intensity of weathering in various climate zones is a determining factor influencing coal formation, which also affects the distribution of two other climate-sensitive sedimentary deposits - evaporite and bauxite.

In this work, a new biomass boron adsorbent of N-methyl-D-glucosamine embedded sodium alginate/polyethyleneimine/polysiloxane composite aerogel (SKPN) was reported. Relevant characterization proved that the aerogel exhibited 3D porous structure with plenty of hydroxyl and amino functional groups, which was beneficial to the diffusion of boron and the chelation between boron and SKPN. Various parameters affecting the adsorption performance including pH value, contact time initial concentration, temperature and reusability were investigated.

Rivers play an important role as reservoirs and sinks for antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). However, it remains underexplored for the resistome and associated mobilome in river ecosystems, and hosts of riverine ARGs particularly the pathogenic ones are rarely studied. Despite the significant advancements in piezoelectric materials for sonodynamic therapy (SDT), the suppression of orthotopic glioma remains challenging, primarily due to the unclear mechanism and the restriction of blood-brain barrier (BBB). Herein, we proposed that layered piezoelectric SrBiTaO nanoparticles (SBTO NPs) could effectively depolarize the mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨ) of glioma cells under ultrasound (US) exposure. In this study, health risk attitude and health locus of control were included as dispositional factors in the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) to explain people's protective behavior in the context of COVID-19 pandemic. Empirical data involved two waves of data with a sample of 526 adults with full-time jobs from Beijing, China, and structural equation model results confirmed a partial successful extension of the PMT. Specifically, health risk attitude had a direct effect on citizens' protective behavior, but without an indirect effect mediated by threat appraisal toward the COVID-19 pandemic; health locus of control did not directly associate with citizens' protective behavior, but had an indirect effect on it fully via coping appraisal toward the COVID-19 pandemic.
