The paper discussed the results of organ-saving treatment carried out in 388 cases of cancer of the cervix uteri (Ca in situ), early endometrial carcinoma and stage IIa tumors of the ovary. The choice of the procedure should be made on reliable evidence on tumor extension and morphology. Favorable end results and preservation of reproductive function justify the use of said treatment and opens up new vistas in research.

Application of 17-oxyprogesterone-capronate as a component of complex treatment of 188 patients with stage I-III carcinoma of corpus uteri improved the long-term results at all stages of the process. Hormonotherapy should be recommended as a method of choice in the postoperative treatment of patients suffering from stage I-II endometrial carcinoma with superficial infiltration of the muscular layer or as an independent method of treatment in elderly patients in case of contraindications for surgery and radiation procedures. The method offers good advantages in young patients at the initial stages only.

Procedures for removal of 5-fluorouracil from biological fluids by means of ADB-13 ty uncoated activated carbon were studied in vivo and in vitro. Dynamic stand trials showed a high sorptive capacity of carbon which appeared to depend on the rate and duration of perfusion. A 40 min passage through a carbon column at the perfusion rate of 100 ml/min was followed by a 584-fold decrease of the drug concentration.

The analysis of the results of serological studies revealed differences between the number of positively reacting sera from patients with cervical carcinoma and from normal women. The activity of complement-fixing and virus-neutralizing antibodies in the patients' sera and the frequency of their detection were higher than in the sera from normal subjects. These results in combination with other methods of laboratory examinations may be used for early detection of cervical carcinoma as well as for determination of high risk groups with regard to oncological diseases.
