Postharvest is susceptible to browning, water loss, and microbial infection. In order to extend its shelf life, cold plasma technology was used to treat and evaluate . Firstly, according to the results of a single factor test and response surface analysis, the optimal conditions for cold plasma treatment were determined as a voltage of 95 kV, a frequency of 130 Hz, and a processing time of 10 min.

To develop an optimized controlled-release system based on temperature-sensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) nanofibers, we prepared three types of temperature-controlled preservative films. These films were composed of PNIPAAm, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polylactic acid (PLA), and lemon essential oil (LEO), and were fabricated using uniaxial, coaxial, and layered spinning techniques. The nanofiber films obtained by layered spinning exhibited a sandwich structure, demonstrating superior physical barrier properties, mechanical strength, and thermal resistance.

Electrospun nanofibrous films containing different active agents were prepared and compared to improve the storage quality of blackberries. We added different essential oils, phenolic acids, microbial antagonists and plant growth regulators to poly(lactic acid)/polycaprolactone (PP) nanofilms and compared their antimicrobial properties against bacteria and fungi. Based on the results, oregano essential oil/PP (OPP), chlorogenic acid/PP (CPP), natamycin/PP (NPP) and methyl jasmonate/PP (MPP) were selected.

Blackberries provide multiple health benefits. However, they deteriorate easily during harvesting, storage, and transportation (temperature-changing). Therefore, to extend their shelf-life under variable temperature conditions, a temperature-sensitive nanofibre-based material with good preservation attributes was developed, composed of polylactic acid (PLA) electrospun fibres, loaded with lemon essential oil (LEO) and covered with poly (N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm).
