Article Synopsis
  • - Variant acute promyelocytic leukemia (vAPL) is a specific type of APL that involves atypical fusion proteins, which are difficult to identify using standard methods like PCR and FISH, necessitating newer techniques like next-gen sequencing.
  • - Patients with vAPL often show resistance to traditional treatments like arsenic trioxide and all trans-retinoic acid, leading to ambiguous prognoses, but venetoclax (VEN) has demonstrated effectiveness when combined with ATRA.
  • - This research presents the first recorded case of vAPL with a TFG-RARA fusion gene successfully treated with VEN and ATRA, achieving complete remission, suggesting that VEN could improve outcomes for vAPL patients.

Transcription Factors (TFs) are key regulators of how plants grow and develop. Among the diverse TF families, the Glabrous-enhancer binding protein (GeBP) family plays a key role in trichome initiation and leaf development. The specific roles of GeBP TFs in plants remain largely unexplored, although GeBP transcription factors play important roles in plants.

MitoAMPK was proved to inhibit the Warburg effect, but the specific mechanisms on non-small-cell lung cancer remain unclear. Here, we selected SIRT6 and MZF1 to clarify the mechanism. By western blotting, quantitative polymerase chain reaction, the CCK-8 assay, and immunohistochemistry assays, we found SIRT6 expression was lower in NSCLC tissues and cell lines than normal tissues and cells.

The etiology of idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is poorly understood, and the identification of targetable disease mediators remains an unmet clinical need. Thus, we firstly employed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to elucidate the landscape of the immune repertoire of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNCs) in iMCD and to identify additional driver cytokines/cells/pathways to address IL-6 blockade-refractory cases. We revealed that the inflammatory cytokine storm observed in iMCD was a significant phenomenon pervasive across all immune cells.

Large amounts of azurophilic granules are considered to be a morphological feature of acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APL). However, a small percentage of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) patients also have a large number of azurophilic granules. A large cohort of 3210 AML patients in our hospital was screened to identify AML patients who had a large number of azurophilic granules.

For radical treatment of malignancies in the posterior region of the oral cavity and oropharynx, surgical exposure of the tumor by mandibulotomy is often required. Midline or paramedian vertical mandibulotomies are commonly performed in clinical practice, but these can damage the suprahyoid musculature and genioglossus, and weaken the swallowing and speech function of patients. Stair-stepped mandibulotomy is a new procedure, developed on the principles of functional surgery, that preserves the structure and function of the mandible whilst providing a clear field and avoiding damage to critical muscle attachments.

The species are widely distributed in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Himalayas, and Hengduan Mountains in China, and have high medicinal and ornamental value. The high diversity of plant morphology in this genus poses significant challenges for species identification, given their propensity for highland dwelling, which makes it a question worth exploring how they cope with the harsh surroundings. In this study, we recently generated chloroplast (cp) genomes of two species, () and , and compared them with those of ten cp genomes to comprehend cp genomic features, their phylogenetic relationships, and what part they might play in plateau adaptation.

The number of new cases of oropharyngeal cancer is increasing year by year among the world, and HPV infection is one of the risk factors for this malignant tumor. Compared with HPV-negative oropharyngeal cancer, HPV-positive patients are more sensitive to radiotherapy and have a better prognosis, but there is no accepted treatment for HPV-positive patients. Reducing treatment intensity moderately and exploring the best option to minimize side effects of treatment are urgent issues to be addressed.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) serve a crucial role in numerous biological processes, such as acute pancreatitis development. Due to its low abundance and high similarity among homogeneous family members, sensitive and reliable detection of microRNA remains a formidable challenge. By combining the three-way junction-assisted rolling circle amplification (RCA) with the trans-cleavage of Cas12a, we propose a novel fluorescent technique for sensitive miRNA detection.
