Methods: This was a single-center study in which the data of 64 patients with BAO who underwent endovascular therapy were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients underwent multi-model computed tomography on admission.
The present study δC, δN and fatty acid compositions of two dominant mangrove crabs, Tubuca arcuata and Parasesarma plicatum were compared between a mangrove site frequently receiving dredged wastewater from mariculture ponds and an adjacent reference site, to investigate the impact of wastewater discharge on their diets. A laboratory experiment was also conducted to further test how their diets changed with the wastewater input. The result showed no significant change in the δC while clear N enrichment of crabs in association with the wastewater discharge.

This study measured the simultaneous fluxes direct to the atmosphere of three GHGs (CO, CH and NO) within a Halophila beccarii seagrass meadow and an adjacent unvegetated bare intertidal flat, and their relationships to seagrass abundance and relevant soil parameters. We tested whether the carbon sequestration performance following rehabilitation varied with plantation of species in different forms and whether mangrove vegetation sequestrate OC more rapidly than soil pool. The results showed that mangrove rehabilitation increased the ecosystem OC stock relative to that of a non-vegetated bare flat.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe effects of zinc (Zn) on nitrous oxide (NO) fluxes from coastal loam soil and the abundances of soil nitrifier and denitrifier were studied in a tidal microcosm receiving livestock wastewater with different Zn levels. Soil NO emission significantly increased due to discharge of wastewater rich in ammonia (NH-N) while the continuous measurements of gas flux showed a durative reduction in NO flux by high Zn input (40mgL) during the low tide period. Soil inorganic nitrogen concentrations increased at the end of the experiment and even more soil NH-N was measured in the high-Zn-level treatment, indicating an inhibition of ammonia oxidation by Zn input.
