Curcumin (CUR) exhibits potential inhibitory effects on tumor growth; however, its hydrophobicity and instability limit its clinical applications. In the present study, we developed CUR nanoparticles (CUR-NPs) and evaluated their biochemical characteristics. Cell uptake and proliferation were assessed using scratch and Transwell assays, respectively.

Objective: The role of kallikrein-related peptidase 5 (KLK5) has been studied in several diseases, including skin and ovarian cancers. However, its role in cervical cancer remains unclear, particularly in regulating the radiation resistance and growth of cervical cancer cells. Radiation resistance of cervical cancer is associated with local recurrence, distant metastasis, and reduced survival.

In this study, we investigated the role of microRNA-363(miR-363) in ovarian cancer (OC) progression. MiR-363expression was downregulated in OC patient tissues and four OC cell lines (SKOV3, A2780, OVCAR and HO-8910). Low miR-363 levels were associated with advanced stage, lymph node metastasis, and poor prognosis in OC.

There is increasing evidence indicating that lysosomal HO is closely related to autophagy and apoptotic pathways under both physiological and pathological conditions. Therefore, fluorescent probes that can be exploited to visualize HO in lysosomes are potential tools for exploring diverse roles of HO in cells. However, functional exploration of lysosomal HO is limited by the lack of fluorescent probes capable of compatibly sensing HO under weak acidic conditions (pH = 4.

MicroRNA-215 (miR-215) has been showed to play crucial roles in tumorigenesis and tumor progression in many types of cancer. However, its biological function and underlying mechanism in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) remains greatly unknown. The aims of this study were to investigate biological role and underlying mechanism of miR-215 in EOC.
