Genes encoding proteins with A20/AN1 zinc-finger domains, belonging to the stress associated protein (SAP) gene family, are present in all eukaryotes and play a decisive role in plant response to diverse physiological and molecular activities particularly on biotic and abiotic stresses (AbS). In this first and foremost study, global transcriptome analysis of members of the gene family was carried out in C3 model- () aiming at the identification of genes activated in response to unique or Combined AbS (CAbS). Based on the available spatio-temporal and phytohormonal RNA-Seq expression profile datasets, nine genes were filtered out and identified by a differential expression signature noted in various tissues as well as plant hormones.

Among the significant transcription factors (TFs), HSF proteins play pivotal roles in the regulation of hormonal signal transduction and different abiotic stress (AbS) responses. Hence considering its importance, global omics expression analysis of HSF candidates was performed in rice (OsHSF). The current study identified 25 HSF family members and physically plotted them against the rice genome.

Ya-Samarn-Phlae (YaSP) is a traditional Thai polyherbal formula for the treatment of chronic wounds. Although its ethanol extract has been proven to possess several wound-related biological activities, there is no scientific information available for the infused oil of YaSP, which is its traditionally prepared form. This present study therefore aimed to evaluate the efficacy of different infused oils obtained from either fresh or oven-dried herbal parts of YaSP (F-YaSP and D-YaSP) against biofilms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which reside in chronic wounds.

Staphylococcus aureus is now amongst the most important pathogenic bacteria responsible for bloodstream nosocomial infections and for biofilm formation on indwelling medical devices. Its increasing resistance to common antibiotics, partly attributed to its ability to form biofilms, is a challenge for the development of new antimicrobial agents. Accordingly, the goal of this study was to evaluate the effect of a coral associated actinomycete (CAA)-3 on S.

The aim of the study is to establish a routine procedure for high frequency plant regeneration from in vitro raised embryogenic callus of abiotic salt sensitive indica rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivar ADT 43. The effect of synthetic auxin 2,4-D on callus induction was optimized to achieve high frequency plant regeneration from fresh embryogenic callus without further subculture.

The nucleotide sequence of a smallest cryptic plasmid pRK10 of Serratia marcescens ACE2 was determined. When compared to the all other plasmids reported so far from S. marcescens in sizes of over 70kb, pRK10 is only 4241bp long with 53% G+C content and has five coding sequences representing a coding percentage of 65.

A facultative anaerobic species Serratia marcescens ACE2 isolated from the corrosion products of diesel transporting pipeline in North West, India was identified by 16S rDNA sequence analysis. The role of Serratia marcesens ACE2 on biodegradation of diesel and its influence on the corrosion of API 5LX steel has been elucidated. The degrading strain ACE2 is involved in the process of corrosion of steel API 5LX and also utilizes the diesel as an organic source.
