The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of enucleation and cryosurgery in treating 10 patients with recurrent odontogenic keratocysts.
Following the procedure, no cases of recurrence were observed over 5 to 10 years, although some complications like secondary wound healing and a mandibular fracture occurred.
The findings suggest that combining enucleation with cryotherapy offers a promising treatment option that minimizes recurrence and avoids more invasive procedures like ostectomy.
