High-speed modulation in a waveguide magneto-optical switch with impedance-matching electrode.

A magneto-optical switch responding to signal with 200 ps rise time was demonstrated. The switch uses current-induced magnetic field to modulate the magneto-optical effect. Impedance-matching electrodes were designed to apply high-frequency current and accommodate the high-speed switching.
