The COVID-19 pandemic has imposed significant challenges on global health, emphasizing the persistent threat of large-scale infectious diseases in the future. This study addresses the need to enhance pooled testing efficiency for large populations. The common approach in pooled testing involves consolidating multiple test samples into a single tube to efficiently detect positivity at a lower cost.

The aim was to evaluate the renoprotective effect of febuxostat in patients with hyperuricemia or gout by performing a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
Methods: MEDLINE, Web of science, EMBASE, ClinicalTrials.
The stacking of phosphogypsum has caused considerable phosphorus pollution in water bodies near phosphogypsum yards through surface runoff and underground infiltration. The phosphate oxygen isotope (δO) tracing method has served as a valuable tool for tracing phosphorus pollution in water. However, the existing δO enrichment and purification methods are complex, costly, and inefficient for phosphate recovery, particularly for phosphogypsum leachate with complex compositions.

Methods: We carried out a systemic review and meta-analysis where MEDLINE, Web of Science, EMBASE, ClinicalTrials.gov, and Cochrane Central Register for Controlled Trials were queried to identify relevant literature.
Background And Aims: Lipid disorders are associated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Remnant cholesterol (RC), a non-traditional previously neglected risk factor for CVD, has received much attention in recent years. The aim of this study is to evaluate the association of RC with the risks of CVD, stroke, and mortality.

Method: Using Plasauto iQ automatic blood purification system, model KM-9000 for DPP.
Results: A total of 603 patients with different entity undergoing 811 purification procedures were included in this study.
Aims: Considering the lack of evidence on statin use and the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with diabetes in primary and secondary prevention, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of statin use in individuals with diabetes for primary and secondary prevention.
Data Synthesis: The MEDLINE, Web of Science, Embase, ClinicalTrials.gov, and Cochrane Central Register for Controlled Trials databases were searched.
Background Somnipathy and diabetes are independently associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, whether a combination of both conditions is associated with a higher risk of CVD events remains uncertain. Therefore, the aim of this meta-analysis was to clarify this association.

Methods: Retinal pigment epithelial cell line ARPE-19 and primary retinal pigment epithelial cells were used to verify the effect of APS on mitochondria damage and apoptosis induced by high glucose-induced metabolic memory.
Inspired by metalloporphyrin-based enzymes, a biomimetic catalyst, R-N-Fe, was prepared by grafting iron phthalocyanine (FePc) covalently onto a macroporous chloromethylated polystyrene-divinylbenzene resin (R), which was pre-functionalized using 4-aminopyridine (4-ampy) as an axial ligand. The novel catalyst was used for the degradation of oxytetracycline hydrochloride (OTCH). The response surface methodology was employed to optimize the independent operating parameters, including temperature, catalyst amount, HO dosage, and initial pH value.

However, reported adverse events, especially increased risks of cardiovascular disease (CVD) morbidity and mortality, have cast doubt on their potential clinical application. Therefore, we conducted this meta-analysis to confirm whether ERAs increased CVD risk and mortality.

We isolated side population (SP) cells from the RCC 769P cell line, and proved that those cells possess cancer stem cell (CSC) characteristics. In this study, to identify the function of PKCε in cancer stemness of 769P SP cells, we reduced the expression of PKCε in those cells, following the results demonstrated that PKCε depletion had a negative correlation with the existence of SP cells in 769P cell line.

However, for patients with chronic kidney disease and undergoing hemodialysis (HD), its preventive efficacy remains controversial. The present study aimed to determine whether aspirin therapy reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and all-cause mortality in patients on HD.

However, the mechanisms by which aldosterone (ALDO) triggers β-cell dysfunction remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate whether oxidative stress is involved in and whether the antioxidant N-acetylcysteine (NAC) or the mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist spironolactone (SPL) could prevent or delay β-cell damage in vivo and in vitro.

However, the mechanisms behind these effects are unclear. This study aimed to investigate the mechanism by which rHuEPO effects IR in 3T3L1 adipocytes.

In China, traffic-related injuries are often treated as transportation issues, called 'accidents'. The objectives of the research are to analyse traffic injury patterns, estimate costs of traffic injuries and provide evidence to develop effective prevention strategies. There were over 1 500 deaths due to traffic-related injuries annually in Shanghai from 1987 to 2003, and it is rising year by year with the rate of growth in motorization.
