Eukaryotic somatic cells undergo continuous telomere shortening because of end-replication problems. Approximately 10%~15% of human cancers rely on alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT) to overcome telomere shortening. ALT cells are characterized by persistent telomere DNA replication stress and rely on recombination-based DNA repair pathways for telomere elongation.

The small thickness of the manufactured structures and the fixation of their back surface on the rigid surface of the mold made it possible to significantly simplify the process model, which takes into account the propagation of a thermosetting resin with changing rheology in a compressible porous preform of complex 3D geometry, as well as changes in boundary conditions at the injection and vacuum ports during the post-infusion molding stage. In the four modes of vacuum-infusion molding studied at the post-infusion stage, the start time, duration and magnitude of additional pressure on the open surface of the preform and in its vacuum port, as well as the state of the injection gates, were controlled (open-closed).

There were ten treatments, including uncultivated (R), wheat continuous cropping (CK/W), wheat-corn rotation (L), and nitrogen fertilizer (N), phosphorus fertilizer (P), nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer (NP), organic fertilizer (M), nitrogen and organic fertilizer (NM), phosphorus and organic fertilizer (PM), nitrogen and phosphorus and organic fertilizer (NPM) for CK/W. The results showed that fertilizer application and planting patterns affected soil aggregate distribution and stability, the contents and contribution rates of total C and organic C.

LncRNA SNHG10 has been explored in several sorts of cancers. However, its detailed role and mechanism are still not well understood in glioma.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of dried salted plum consumption on MEB and otalgia associated with HBO₂ therapy.
Materials And Methods: Patients undergoing the first chamber session of HBO₂ therapy were included in the present prospective randomized controlled trial.
Low socioeconomic position (SEP) has previously been linked to a number of negative health indicators, including poor mental health. The biologic mechanisms linking SEP and mental health remain poorly understood. Recent work suggests that social exposures influence DNA methylation in a manner salient to mental health.

The objectives of the present study were to investigate particulate matter (PM) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) concentrations in ambient air during rice straw open burning and non-open burning periods. In the ambient air of a rice field, the mean PM concentration during and after an open burning event were 1828 and 102 μg m⁻³, respectively, which demonstrates that during a rice field open burning event, the PM concentration in the ambient air of rice field is over 17 times higher than that of the non-open burning period. During an open burning event, the mean total PAH and total toxic equivalence (BaP(eq)) concentrations in the ambient air of a rice field were 7206 ng m⁻³ and 10.

Biomarkers could help select an appropriate chemotherapy for NSCLC patients or predict the efficacy of chemotherapy. The objective of this study was to explore the possible prognostic and predictive role of topoisomerase II alpha (TopIIα) expression level in postoperative NSCLC patients who received adjuvant chemotherapy.

Although previous studies have failed to find evidence of a major gene responsible for gout, the disease is thought to involve genetic predisposition. We sought to determine whether genetic factors for familial gout exist among Taiwanese aborigines, and, if so, their chromosomal location.

Methods: The participants were aborigines and non-aborigines in Taiwan, age 12 to 15 years and free of gout. Each participant provided information on sex, age, and parents' tribal background as well as body weight and height.
