Resection of a rapidly growing chest wall cyst: a case report.

Background: When cystic lesions are detected in the chest wall, postoperative seroma and abscesses can be considered in the differential diagnoses. Herein, we present a case of a large chest wall cyst with rapid growth 5 years after thoracic surgery.

Case Presentation: A male patient in his 60s was admitted to our hospital complaining of a rapidly enlarging chest wall swelling.

Prognostic impact of interstitial lung disease on pulmonary high-grade neuroendocrine carcinoma.

Pulmonary high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas (HGNECs) have poor prognoses and require multimodal treatment, and interstitial lung disease (ILD) restricts sufficient treatment of patients with lung cancer. We aimed to clarify ILD's prognostic impact on pulmonary HGNEC, which has previously gone unreported. We retrospectively analyzed 53 patients with HGNEC who underwent resections at our department between 2006 and 2021 and evaluated the clinicopathological prognostic features, including ILD.

[Validity of Video-assisted Thoracic Surgery for Thymoma].

Objectives: This study aimed to identify the validity of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for thymoma, including myasthenia gravis( MG).

Methods: A total of 20 patients who underwent VATS for thymoma at our institution between 2011 and 2019 were included in the study. Preoperative complications and prognosis were analyzed to detect the safety and efficiency of VATS thymectomy.

Reconstruction of Extensive Diaphragmatic Defects Using the Rectus Abdominis Muscle and Fascial Flap.

Diaphragmatic reconstruction is required for extensive diaphragmatic defects associated with tumor resection. Methods using artificial mesh and autologous tissues, such as pedicled flaps, have been reported predominantly for diaphragmatic reconstruction. We present the case of a 61-year-old woman who presented with a 14 × 13 × 12 cm tumor in the abdominal cavity of the upper left abdomen on computed tomography.
