We studied 24 skin biopsies of the hand in 24 IDDM patients followed at the National Institute of Endocrinology (NIE). Biopsies of 7 healthy individuals were used as controls. The diabetics were divided into two groups, with limited joint mobility (LJM) and without LJM.

Besides the numberous icteric periods and symptoms for intrahepatal cholestasis, the disease advanced with joint complaints, cardiac pulmonary and adrenal lesions. HBsAg is absent from blood but the latter was found in the nuclei of hapatic cells via electron microscopy.

The morphological changes occuring upon intraperitoneal and intratracheal application of cement with free silica content amounting to 1.30% are described. Initially, the changes in the peritoneal cavity are mainly necrotic and exudative, while after subsiding, the granulomas formed around the uneliminated dust particles predominate without exhibiting fibrotic phenomena.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe authors carried out an autoradiographic study on the regeneratory processes in liver of 130 rats, which were treated with carbon tetrachloride and heterologous antiliver serum at various dilutions. The obtained results showed that this serum stimulated the synthesis of DNA in the parenchymal mesenchymal cells of liver, damaged diffusely. The effect of stimulation on DNA-synthesis in the animals of the experimental group, treated with 0,5 ml of heterolougous antiliver serum in dilution of 1:10 with saline, was mostly manifested.
